This is Lisa’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past month. It has been a real pleasure having you along with us :-)
Lisa created a big mixed media tag, using a piece of Canson XL Watercolor Paper. She glued on it a piece of Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Melange Tissue Wrap and brushed a light coat of white gesso. She made some stencil and used 49 and Market Script Squared Clear Stamp with archival black ink. Then she used new Art Alchemy Colors (True Yellow, Emerald and Deep Turquoise) to color the background. Finally, she created a sweet butterfly using Tim Holtz Sizzix Detailed Butterflies and Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Pen Nibs.
Andrea made a paint-covered tag book featuring a “You are Beautiful” sentiment from Crate Paper’s All Heart stamp set. She made a plaid design in the background using The Stamp Market’s Criss Cross stamp and constructed the whole thing on a black Dylusions #12 tag.
Anna-Karin made a scrapbooking page about a childhood story, of a lost book. She used Distress Paint and Tim Holtz Gradient Dot stencil for the background. The animals were stamped with Tim’s On The Farm set, and were the perfect illustrations to this story.
Barbara had much fun to create backgrounds with Ranger Gel Printing Plate and Distress oxides! for these two tags she used Tim Holtz Sizzix Wildflower Stems 1 and Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Butterfly Bigz mixed with Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Halftone and Tim Holtz Stencil Mini set 34.
Emma is never happier than when she’s surrounded by her beloved paints and she created an art panel inspired by a Picasso quote, which focuses on The Professor and his art supplies. She used various colours of Distress Paints to create her background, to alter her metal embellishments and then water-coloured the image with Distress Marker Pens.
Kath was inspired by the arrival of Spring and decorated a Medium Etcetera Tag using Tim Holtz Layering Stencils, Sizzix Wildflower Stems 1 Thinlits, Idea-ology Stencil Chips and, of course, Distress Paints.
Lols made a set of cards using a new Tim Holtz Funny Farm Cling Stamp Set. For the background she used a Gelli Printing Plate, Mowed Lawn and Wild Honey Distress Paint and a new Simon’s Exclusive Triangle Blast Stencil
Macarena made a soft shabby spring calling card using for the background the Prima Marketing Irist Tapestry stencil with Metallique Dark Velvet paint. She cut out the Tim Holtz Sizzix Layered Butterfly and added a Tim Holtz Sizzix Wildflower Stems flower.
Maura played with her watercolors and made a duo of card, using Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments in Blue Violet, Blue, Blue-Green and Gilded Metallic, along with her Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers.
Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Tim Holtz Distress Paints and Daniel Smith Watercolor Paints, and decorated it with Sizzix Geo Spring Time Thinlits Die and Prima Marketing Dark Romance Midnight Garden Flowers.
Sandra played with Opal Magic Paints for her first layer of her card, she used Blue-Gold, Rose-Gold, Yellow-Pink and Green-Gold. And after applying Infusions and Nuvo Shimmer Powder for more color she added Distress Black Soot Paint in opposite corners to create more depth and contrast.
Zoey used Distress Paint ( Antique Linen , Black Soot , Picket Fence , Gathered Twigs , Old Paper , Frayed Burlap , Vintage Photo ) to create this Vintage Background. She also used Tim Holtz Idea-ology JOURNEY Design Tape Paperie , Tim Holtz Idea-ology INDEX CLIPS Fasteners , Tim Holtz Idea-ology Ephemera Pack EXPEDITION and Tim Holtz Idea-ology PHOTOBOOTH to decorate this Tag!
So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
