STAMPtember® Feature: Altenew
(Card by Jennifer Rzasa)
(Card by Tasnim Ahmed)
Hi readers! Happy Monday to you! I hope you’ve all had a fantastic weekend! I’m pleased to kick off the ‘work’ week with two gorgeous cards by the creative geniuses behind Altenew!
For Tasnim Ahmed and Jennifer Rzasa, starting a stamp company has been a dream in the brewing. The girls joined forces to launch Altenew; a small online based company located in the East Coast of the United States.
Altenew strives to bring you fresh, innovative and versatile designs. Their stamps are made from high quality clear photopolymer, and are manufactured in the USA.
You can view the entire collection of Altenew products here. They are in the STAMPtember® spotlight today! Please welcome Jennifer Rzasa & Tasnim Ahmed!
I started this card by stamping the tree and the bicycle with a very light ink. I used Distress ink Antique Linen as it is one my lightest colors. Once the images are colored, the light outlines don’t show much, giving them a natural look. I used Copic markers for coloring. For the leaves on the tree, I simply dabbed the tip of the markers at random places to create a speckled look. For the bicycle, after it was colored with the same pink and gray markers, I used a 0.3 point black pen to draw the spokes of the wheels and the chain assembly.
I adhered a 1” wide gray card stock along the bottom of the card to mimic a pavement, and stamped the shadows with Versamark ink. To add a little sparkle, I adhered a thin strip of silver glitter card stock where the images and their shadows meet. The finished card is 3.5″ x 5.5″.
Thanks so much for reading today and thanks to Jennifer & Tansim for being our awesome guests!

I love the addition of the shadows on both cards.
Such a clever way to capture the reflection! (and especially appropriate for that image of Sydney harbour). I love the stamp set with the shadows, too. Love the way those girls from Altenew think!
Love both cards!!…Awesome!!
Love the cards! Thanks for the ‘reflection’ tips. I think the bicycle card is my favorite, so simple but unique. Thanks also for introducing me to Altenew!
Wonderful cards, ladies, and congrats on your stamp line! Thanks for the video too…

What great cards! I love the shadow effect at the bottom of each one thanks for introducing this new company to me!
Both cards are wonderful. The tip to use vellum to create a reflection is so smart!!! I would have never thought to do that. And I love the strip of silver glitter between the bike & tree and their shadows. Fun little accent on that card.
Altenew stamp sets are those I wanted to try someday. I hope they will come out with more Asian theme stamp sets soon!
Beautiful card. Really like knowing how you did the reflection. Thanks for sharing.
Freakin’ Awesome-nuff said.
Gorgeous stuff! Gosh, you guys are good.
Love the reflection technique, thanks for sharing both beautiful cards.
That’s such a cute stamp set and card.
Jen, both your cards are gorgeous. I especially like the skyline card, great way to make a reflection. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful colors, thanks for sharing
Who would have thought about making a show of a city or any thing else for that matter by stamping the object upside down. Brilliant Jennifer!
I love both cards, very stylish!
Love these cards!
For some reason, that bicycle stamp is one of my favorites. This card just really moved it up the list!
Love both the cards! Thanks for sharing :)
That bike shadow looks elongated. Is it just a trick of the eye? I read the instructions and it didn’t mention doing anything special to the stamp. Impressive.
Mary Ellen – the stamp set (Shadow Play), comes with coordinating shadows for the images! :)
Such pretty cards!
In love! Happy day!
Love Altenew and was happy to see them featured on Stamptember!
love these cards…awesome stamps!
I love the colors! Especially the 2nd card!
Great cards. Love Altenew!
