Singing a Happy Holiday Tune

Hi readers! Happy Wednesday to you! I hope you’re having a great week, and getting into full holiday swing! To help keep that going, we have a special holiday card by our crafty friend Lucy Abrams! We hope you enjoy! Read on!

Hands up: who is guilty of always wanting to use brand new supplies on their projects, and neglecting all their much loved older products… I know I am! So when I was thinking about creating this card, I decided it would be fun to combine old and new.

I rooted through my stash of lovely older release Hero Arts stamps, and came up with their gorgeous Music Background. I remember how excited I was when they released this one; it’s just perfect for Christmas card backgrounds. So I paired it up with the newly released Fancy Cuts Christmas die set, and created this sparkly, inky card.

The background was heat embossed in white, then inked over with Ranger’s Festive Berries Distress Ink. And I stitched my die cuts to the card for a different look.

A few beautiful Hero Arts Smooth Clear Gemstones finished the card off.

  1. Oh my gosh I LOVE this card!!! I almost got this die/stamp set but I put it back and now I am kicking myself for it.

  2. Very pretty card. Like you I too often forget about some of my older supplies. You’ve inspired me to go see what I have hoarded away or just plain forgot. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Such a lovely card! I have a music stamp I could do this technique with – thanks. ( if only I had the die cut words!). I follow the blog by email.

  4. I have that music background stamp, but am wondering what text stamp Lucy used. It’s a great card with all the texture & glitter.

  5. This is a beautiful Christmas card and it would be easy to mass produce, if necessary, to mail out to all of your friends and family.

  6. I’ve been looking for a music background stamp…I think I’ve found it! Gorgeous card! Thank you for the inspiration!

  7. That was a new idea for me to sew across the die cut letters. I like inking over white embossing. Thanks for reminding me. I’ve been wanting to do this.

  8. I love this card and I didn’t think the other I thought was tops just got beat. Lots of items out of stock will order later for next Christmas. TYFS
