Singing a Happy Holiday Tune

Hi readers! Happy Wednesday to you! I hope you’re having a great week, and getting into full holiday swing! To help keep that going, we have a special holiday card by our crafty friend Lucy Abrams! We hope you enjoy! Read on!

Hands up: who is guilty of always wanting to use brand new supplies on their projects, and neglecting all their much loved older products… I know I am! So when I was thinking about creating this card, I decided it would be fun to combine old and new.

I rooted through my stash of lovely older release Hero Arts stamps, and came up with their gorgeous Music Background. I remember how excited I was when they released this one; it’s just perfect for Christmas card backgrounds. So I paired it up with the newly released Fancy Cuts Christmas die set, and created this sparkly, inky card.

The background was heat embossed in white, then inked over with Ranger’s Festive Berries Distress Ink. And I stitched my die cuts to the card for a different look.

A few beautiful Hero Arts Smooth Clear Gemstones finished the card off.

  1. I love that music background, too, Lucy, and it’s not just for Christmas! I find myself pulling out lots of HA oldies all the time – they are timeless. Gorgeous card, Lucy!

  2. WOW!!! A very gorgeous Christmas card!!! Perfect color combination, love the fading effect and the stitching and gemstones are a nice add ons to the card. Love your choice of Fancy christmas die cut and Hero Arts music background stamp. They are great together. Great job! Thanks for sharing :-)

  3. How fun! I inked up this same stamp last year and applied pink distress ink after heat embossing but never got around to turning the panel into a card. Maybe it’s time I did LOL.

  4. You’re right about neglecting your older stamps! I have the music stamp! You’ve inspired me to ink it up and show it some love! Thanks for sharing your lovely card!

  5. Love your card with the mix of old and new. I do this all the time because I love using lots of my older stamps and they are still favorites.
