Hydrangea Blooms by Laura Bassen

Purple Hydrangea flower (Hydrangea macrophylla) in a garden
Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! Gorgeous real life shot of hydrangeas above, isn’t it? This was the inspiration for the fantastic Laura Bassen for her feature today, and oh my goodness did she represent it well! She used the Hydrangea Blooms stamps and dies along with some of her favorite Simon Says Stamp inks (including HOT MAMA!) to recreate this gorgeous scene in card form. Don’t forget to watch the video, and enjoy!

  1. Congratulations to the winners! I just got my blog candy recently too and it was such a nice surprise to get in the mail!

I LOVE the hydrangeas – the colouring of them is just so perfect. Such a nice bit of summer colour on this cold Fall day!

  2. Gorgeous!! You have some mad ink blending skills!! Really love the way you brought the flowers to life and the sentiment is perfect. Great Inspiration!!

  3. Laura is my go to video for a chuckle! The colours of hydrangeas is insane gorgeous isn’t it? What a beautiful card Laura.

  4. What can I possibly say….Laura is ALWAYS amazing. I love her card, fabulous blending, fun video, great design technique and ideas. That set is really perfect, a must-have, especially if you like hydrangeas. Love love love it. Thanks so much Laura.

  5. Beautiful card and great video, as always. I love the font and sentiment–perfect for encouragement or sympathy cards.

  6. Gorgeous card Laura, I love how you coloured the hydrangea and I think the sun rays really turned out great! Loved your tutorial too.

  7. This is gorgeous…a beautiful use of the hydrangea stamp and no less than what I’ve come to expect from Laura. I loved her comment about not knowing what she was doing and it reminded me of what Albert Einstein said..”If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn’t be called research, would it?” But Laura knows what she is doing and her techniques and ideas are always great. Thanks!
