Making fun His + Her personalized mugs can be as easy as 1-2-3!

1. Start off with a permanent marker & non-decorative porcelain mug that you want to permanently alter. (I really dug the handles on these!)

step2

2. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 Degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t forget your mitt when taking out of the oven!!

3. Let cool completely before washing or using.

Then, enjoy! (My favorite red lipstick) :)

*Editors note: Some have found after using Sharpie markers, that the designs have washed off over time. Pebeo markers are a bit pricier, but are made to be applied on porcelain.

  1. Oh, I love it! The ones pictured would be perfect for mine and my husband’s daily routine. I love coffee, too, but have made the switch so that coffee for me is now just a treat. Neat project!

  2. I LOVE the cups but have a issue with getting as nice a handwriting :( Great idea though… Thanks for sharing.

  3. I am off to try this technique tomorrow. I have a cup similar to this one on the blog. However, I don’t have handwriting as cool as the guest designers.

  4. Love the mugs! Wish my handwriting looked like that. I am thinking a few simple owls would look great . . .

  5. Hmmmmm, maybe you could show me some stamping on these mugs. What inks could I use? Or what paints would be good to decorate these.

  6. What a FUN project idea :)
Perfect for a gift and great for the kids to do too – LOVE IT!!!

  7. What a great idea for the sharpies. And if it washes off you can just put something different there. It’s nice to vary the art now and again

  8. Great idea! I am a teacher so I would probably write an educational quote on mine. Thanks!

  9. Very cute idea and their blog is great. I have subscribed to it for the last few months. Thanks for the chance!
