Alison says- I’m creating an aura of menace this week with a pair of tags offering double trouble. These grungy backgrounds started as mop-up tags, using up leftover scrapings of texture paste from Tim Holtz’s Bricked and Mosaic stencils, with lots of Distress Inks and Oxides over that and then the wonderful Tangled Webs hanging over everything. The Corked Vials (filled with who-knows-what vile potions and powders) and Skulls stand on hand-built shelves, but the Boneyard bones seem to have fallen off! Come and see more, including where I found my “found text”, over at Words and Pictures.
Andrea made a quirky Halloween sign using Whimsy Stamps’ Monster Parade die set. She brought the background to life using Izink Ice Glaze (Frostbite, Winter’s Night, Crystal Waters and Arctic Grape), Altenew’s Many Dots washi tape and My Favorite Things’ Wonky Dots stencil.
Anna-Karin created a spooky house where wanderers might get lost. She used Tim Holtz Haunted die set to die cut the house and the planks were stamped with SSS Wood Planks background stamp. The spider web and spiders come from Tim’s Spider Web set.
Barbara made a spooky panel using Tim Holtz Sketch Manor Stamps Set and various Ranger Alcohol Inks to end her season of Halloween themed projects. She added an Idea-Ology Paper Doll and completed the panel with some Creepy Eyes and Trim Tape on all edges.
Cheiron created a tag using lots of Tim Holtz Idea-ology products including the Mini Departed Paper Stash as the base of her tag, Halloween Paper Dolls, Ephemera and Curiosities stickers. She added some masks from the Sizzix Masquerade die and a Spiderweb. To finish the tag she added a Quote Chip and some Black Soot Distress Paint using a Splatter Brush.
Emma was in her element creating a piece of home decor using Tim Holtz Vignette Boxes as a base for her spooky apothecary cabinet. She upcycled some glass bottles and combined these with Tim’s corked vials, and Laboratory, before applying texture with Rock Candy Crackle Paint and colouring each bottle with alcohol inks.
Kath created a spooky page in her Dylusions Small Creative Journal using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Halloween Snarky Cats, Sketched Manor and Anatomy Chart along with Deco Arch and Script Layering Stencils
Macarena is not a Halloween crafter but she did her best to make a creepy tag with one of the Tim Holtz Framed Portraits Halloween and the bugs from Tim Holtz Specimen set. She embossed the bugs with Simon Says Stamp Black Embossing Powder Ultrafine Detail.
Maura made a spooky card with the Brutus Monroe Twisted Tree die, Tim Holtz’s Snarky Cats stamps, and Daniel Smith watercolors like Permanent Orange.
Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media spooky Halloween tag using Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamp Monstrous and decorated it with Idea-Ology Stitched Scraps Embellishments and Skulls and Pumpkins.
Sandra made a spooky card with a Halloween Paper Doll and the wings of the Royal Script stamp set. She used a Creepy Eye and colored it with Mushroom Alcohol Ink.
Zoey used Tim Holtz Idea-ology HALLOWEEN PAPER DOLLS, Tim Holtz Idea-ology HALLOWEEN Worn Wallpaper and Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps 2020 SKETCH MANOR to decorate this spooky tag!
So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
