Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Play With Paint Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week we are challenging you to add a feathered friend or maybe you could interpret the theme as an early morning sunrise, or maybe you can think of something else!

Early Birds

The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $25 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post! Sheila created this vibrant tropical card using Dina Wakley’s Media Collage Collective Book pages, My Favorite Things Cross Stitch Tag Die-Namics, Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals, and a little floral bling from Pretty Pink Posh Sequins! 

Andrea made a card celebrating early birds, the sun rising and the hope that a new day brings. She used Altenew’s Mid-Century Frame Die as well as some great images from Dina Wakley’s original Collage Collective and her Collage Collective 2, Volume 1.

Anna-Karin made a card with a blocked Distress Ink background, stamped with flowers from Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Flowers. The bird was die cut with Tim Holtz Feathered Friends set and the pretty branches are die cut with the SSS Leafy Branch die.

Barbara got her inspiration from the super colorful tropical birds. She used Tim Holtz Feathered Friends Thinlits, Tim Holtz Funky Floral 3, Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text CMS 394, Tim Holtz Stencils Mini Set 26 and a lot of Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink pads.

Cheiron used her new favorite bird die the Tim Holtz Sizzix Colorize Arthur. She cut him out of different hues of blue from the Classic Kraft Stock Paper Stash and placed him on a background of stars cut with the Sizzix Falling Stars die . She added the spectacles from Santa’s Wish and completed her card with a sticker from the Idea-ology Big Talk Snarky stickers pack.

Emma believes it’s never to early to start creating Halloween projects and she used the Sizzix Feathered Friends and Funky Wreath Thinlits Dies by Tim Holtz to create an Stampers Anonymous Etcetera Tag inspired by all things mysterious!

Kath believes it’s never too early to make a start on your Christmas cards, better to be an early bird than a rushing at the last-minuter, although she don’t always practice what she preaches. She used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Winter Wardrobe, Stacked Tiles Triangles Thinlits from the Chapter 3 release, Idea-ology Worn Wallpaper and Clippings Stickers on her Winter themed card.

Macarena got inspired by the trushes nest found at the summer house and made this card using Stamperia Cosmos paper and several shades of brown in Distress Oxides.

Maura’s been listening to lovely bird songs, and created a garden scene for Tim Holtz’s Feathered Friends, using Simon Says Stamp’s Thoughtful Flowers and Inky Antic’s Branching Out stamps, along with lots of Daniel Smith watercolors.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Paper Rose Inky Antics Paper on the background of the tag and decorated it with Tim Holtz Sizzix Geo Spring Tim Thinlits Die and Prima Marketing Flowers. 

Sandra had fun playing with the Bird Crazy stamp set and coloring this crazy bird in with Distress Reinker Weathered Wood, Broken China and Walnut Stain. For the background she used Liquid Acrylics Burnt Sienna, Distress Paint Weathered Wood and Metallique Paint Stormy Ocean.

Zoey used Tim Holtz Distress Paint and Distress Crayons to color the background of her tag. She also used Tim Holtz Idea-ology TYPESET Collage Paper to add some interest to the background and Tim Holtz Layering Stencil SPLOTCHES for some more textures!
