Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Midsummer Blues Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week we would like you to make an

Artist Trading Card

Definition:Artist trading cards (ATCs) is a conceptual art project initiated by the Swiss artist M. Vänçi Stirnemann in 1997. He called it a Collaborative Cultural Performance. Artist trading cards are 2 12 by 3 12 inches (64 mm × 89 mm) in size, the same format as modern trading cards (hockey cards or baseball cards). They are self-made unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged and collected by the people who participate in the collaborative performance.

The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 vouchers to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post! Alison likes fitting as many mixed media goodies as possible onto an ATC, so she had great fun using the Idea-ology Snippets and Chitchat Stickers, the Tim Holtz Wildflower Thinlits and Trellis Stencil, with Crackle Paste, rusty wire, Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics, and Distress Inks to provide a setting for her real lavender stems and Transparent Wings butterfly.  Check out all the tiny details over at Words & Pictures

Andrea made this collection of ATC’s using Waffle Flower’s ATC Layers dies, an In Orbit stencil from Creative Expressions and some bright grungy Graffiti paper from Ella and Viv.

Anna-Karin enjoys working on the small space of an ATC and made two vintage flower themed ATCs. She used Tim Holtz’s Mixed Media 5 die set to create the background, and embellished the cards with Clippings Stickers.

Barbara had much fun creating four Atcs with the new Tim Holtz dies Regions beyondFrightful things. She used a lot of Tim Holtz Ranger Ink Distress Oxide productsTim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Mini stencils set 17 and Idea-ology Halloween Remnant Rubs.

Cheiron created a trio of ATCs with the Tim Holtz  Abandoned Paper Stash as her background. She added Halloween Paper Dolls, Halloween Quote Chips and stickers to each, and gave each of her characters a mask using the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Thinlits Masquerade die.

Emma’s thoughts turned to Halloween and she created a trio of ATCs using Tim Holtz’s Monster Reunion Stamp Set by Stampers Anonymous, which she displayed on Mini Mason Jars Votive Luminaries, complete with Mummy Cloth wraps.

Kath created a trio of ATC’s using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Label Frames and Tiny Toadstools and used them to decorate a set of notecards.

Macarena made a couple of ATC with colorful details using Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks on Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Cardstock . She added big words from Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media 6 dies and Tim Holtz The Professor stamp.

Maura made a quartet of patchwork ATC’s using Stamperia’s Patchwork Papers along with Simon Says Stamp’s Waves stencil, and Emerald Creek’s Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture embossing powder.

Meihsia was inspired to create four ATCs using Ranger Mini Archival Ink Pads Set on the background and Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps Eclectic Adverts to decorate these artist trading cards.

Sandra made her first Halloween project of this year, and for this ATC she used Distress Inks Spiced MarmaladeRusty Hinge and Black Soot to create the background and made the lady of the Fairy Garden Moulds into a creepy creature.

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
