Alison’s Shakespearean connections took her imagination straight into a Midsummer Night’s Dream. This diptych on a pair of Etcetera Tags is also inspired by the idea of the summer solstice, when day and night are exactly divided in two. She used a Prima’s Stars and Moons Mould and two of the tiniest Paper Dolls, with Transparent Wings.

Andrea has always felt the blues when math comes her way.  She made a notebook expressing her algebra angst using Inky Antics’ Math Misery stamp set, some Jane Davenport Washi Girls Washi Sheets and the We R Memory Keepers File Tab punch.

Anna-Karin made an art journal page, using no other colors but blue, to keep days at the sea in memory as the colder period starts. She used the Simon Says Stamp Beachy Waves stamp for the focal point, and embellished the page with die cut Anchors and words.

Barbara made a card using one of her favorite shade of blue: Chipped Sapphire Distress oxide. This color is perfect to create a creepy sky for Halloween mixed together with purple and orange. She used also Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Brushstrokes stamp setTim Holtz Sizzix Bat Crazy,Tim Holtz Idea-ology Skull FragmentsBrutus Monroe Mermaid Tail Ultra Fine Embossing powder.

Cheiron created a Mini Etcetera Tag that reminded her of summer sunsets using Tim Holtz Abandoned Paper Stash to create her background and filled it with stars from the Hocus Pocus stencil and the Swirling Stars dies.

Emma created an Etcetera tag inspired by William Shakespeare’s, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and used Tim Holtz Paper Dolls to tell the story and create a woodland scene set against a background of Ranger Ink Texture Crackle Paste stars created with the Falling Stars Layering Stencil.

Kath embraced nature this week to create two-for-the price of one Midsummer Blue cards using some of her favourite Distress colours with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Poinsettia Pieces Thinlits and Stampers Anonymous Dots and Circles and Tiny Toadstools

Macarena made a vibrant collage card using Carabelle Studio Chiffres Grunge Embossing folder for her background and Tim Holtz Sizzix Entomology stamps and dies for the focal point.

Maura made a set of encouragement cards to chase away the midsummer blues. She used Stamperia’s Wonderland papers, a variety of stencils such as Tim Holtz’s Harlequin and Flourish Layering Stencils, along with Paper Artsy’s Fresco Finish paints in Venice Blue and Glacier Ice

Meihsia was inspired to create two postcards using Simon Says Stamp Suzy’s Succulents Watercolor Prints and Daniel Smith Watercolor with the sentiments from Idea-Ology Quotations Metallic Stickers.

Sandra loves the color blue and made a card using lots of blue tones of Distress Ink and Distress Oxide, but also with a little bit of Distress Ink Ground Espresso for a vintage look and used a Paper Doll with Transparent Wings as the focal point.

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!

  1. I’ve loved hopping around this week – looks like I wasn’t the only one with A Midsummer Night’s Dream floating around in the back (or the front) of my brain! Gorgeous creations all round.

  2. Why did you change the blog so one can no longer scroll down through it to view day after day of blog posts? I was looking for the original challenge for this week and it is gone. I can not now find nor see the art work of others and visit their blogs.
