Simon Says: Wild Things

newchallenge

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Krafty Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week we are walking on the wild side with the theme:

Wild Things

This can be interpreted in so many ways! You could use some wild animals, wild flowers, or maybe you would prefer to use wild and funky colours!

The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post! You can join 5 times so you could have 5 chances to win! How AWESOME is that!! All winners are chosen randomly, so everyone has an equal chance to win! Woo Hoo!! Good Luck to everyone! The Design Team is looking forward to seeing your ‘wild things’ and will pop around to visit you ASAP!

This is Karolina’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your fabulous makes over the past month! It has been such a great pleasure to have you along with us!

Karolina “When I see the white canvas, I begin to feel freedom. I can smear, splash, play with background and color. In this project I used Faber-Castell Metallics Gelatos and Tonic Nuvo Glitter, I love this combination,  they work so well together. I used a watercolor brush pen for blending, these are ideal for use with Gelatos. For the sentiment I used a Heidi Swap Magnolia Jane Stamp Set and Black Archival Ink.”

Andrea made a wild bird tag with wild patterns and colors.  She used AALL & Create’s Quirky Birds stamp set, Darkroom Door’s Mesh Large stencil and Altenew’s Tree Ring die.

Anna-Karin made a watercolor scene in her art journal featuring an African moonlit night. The page was colored with Dina Wakley’s Scribble Sticks and stamped with the Darkroom Door African Trees set.

Barbara created a trio of cards using three set inspired by nature: Entomology, Flutter and  Botanical sketch from Tim Holtz /Stampers Anonymous. For the background she used a lot of Alcohol inks and Alcohol lift ink.

Cheiron created a tag to put on a bag of treats from her dog to his favorite cousin. She used Tim Holtz’s Tag Framelits Tag Collection and Crazy Dogs stamps and dies along with the CZ Design Dude die and Simon Says Stamp Messages for Everyday stamps.

Emma created a journal layout inspired by how moths and insects are attracted by light and used Tim Holtz’s Entomology stamp set combined with the Inventor 2 stamp set to create the focal point to this page.

Kath created a Wild Jungle background for her Tim Holtz Hipster Chimp card using Simon Says Stamp Folk Dance stamp, Alcohol Lift Ink, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Wildflowers 2 and Funky Floral 1 Thinlits

Lols made a card using a  Tim Holtz Hipster Chimp and Coordinating Die Set. She used  Distress Oxide Inks, a Botanical Background Stamp and a Funky Florals Die Set for inside the frame and a Simon’s Exclusive Leafy Frame Stencil, Distress Resist Spray and oxide inks for the frame, finishing with a Snarky Small Talk Sticker and machine stitching.

Macarena heat embossed the frog from Stampendous Fossil stamp set and used a lot of brown shades of Distress Oxide inks. For the background she used Tim Holtz Sizzix Botanical 3D embossing folder and Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media 6 die.

Maura  made a notepad cover with winged and rooted wild things,  using Aall and Create Exterminata Sunt Border stamp, Aall and Create Tracy Evans #44 stamp set and the Simon Says Stamp Everything Together set.

Meihsia was inspired to make a mixed media tag with some bright funky colors, and embossed with Sizzix Lumber 3D Texture Embossing Folder and added a sentiment using Tim Holtz Pondring Words Thinlits Die.

Sandra went for a grungy wild life scene card made with Garden Greens dies. To create some texture she used Opaque Crackle Paste with Black Soot Distress Paint and the Industrial stencil.

Zoey used Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Melange Tissue Wrap Paper and Cosmic Shimmer Persian Dawn Gilding Flakes to decor this ATC.

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
