Happy World Card Making Day from Simon Says Stamp! It’s a holiday created just for all of us, and we’re SO excited to share an epic video and some inspiration with you!

The best thing about World Card Making Day is not only making cards, but the idea that there are people all over the WORLD making cards, too. These people share our passion for creativity and happy mail. In the spirit of this connective nature and to celebrate our favorite holiday, we’ve compiled a video featuring designers from around the world. Meet your favorite designers, peer into their worlds, and hear what they love about making cards (in 8 different languages)!

World Card Making Day was created in 2006, and the original purpose was to kick-start the holiday card making season. Chances are you make lots of cards for Christmas, but we all know that those beautiful cards don’t come together in one night. So grab your scissors and adhesives and cardstock and stamps and make some cards today! Your family can fend for themselves, right? You deserve to celebrate.

And of course you are looking for inspiration to get those Christmas cards started, so here are some beautiful cards from Yana Smakula, Nichol Spohr, and Barbara Tarayao using some products from our STAMPtember® 2021 release!

Yana used the Happy Poinsettia stamp and die for this beautiful classic Christmas card.

  1. FAB video! Happy WCMD! And a big happy hello to my Cape Cod neighbors! I looooove card making for so many reasons. At the top of the list; it lets me create little pieces of art (almost) everyday….I get to send happy mail to someone I love and I have ‘met’ so many wildly talented people along the way! Pure JOY!!!   2. Fabulous! I loved seeing so many faces to put with names! I’m Sharon Suske from Yates Center, Kansas. I love cardmaking because it’s the gift that keeps on giving. I get the gift of using my creativity and my recipients get the gift of happy mail. My sweetie came in while I was watching this video and he liked that cardmaking is cheaper than therapy. Maybe ? Is it wrong to pray for rain on the soccer matches today? Thanks to all of these artists for inspiration!

  3. This was a wonderful video – it was so good to see all the faces and where those wonderful faces are from! I started card making in 2000 when my first grandson was born – I have been making and sharing cards for my family and friends since then. Now, 27 grandchildren later and they love it as much as I do. A few of the older ones (college) have saved the all the cards.

  7. i live in beautiful Canada. i love card making because it in addition to letting me be creative and express my inner artist it allows me to show people that i care. i’m not overly wordy and demonstrative, and giving a card to a person is sharing a bit of my heart with them. it allows me to love them just a little bit harder in a way that allows them to see that i care.

  16. So awesome to put faces to some of my favorite designers…I have been making cards since 2008 when I retired. I used to be a quilter and have always been fascinated with color.
