Hi everyone! Greetings of the Winter season! It’s time for another edition of Weekender with Wanda here on the SSS Blog. I’m back today to share a fun felt project with you! If you follow my personal blog, then you already know that I am pretty obsessed with making felties with the Exclusive Simon Says Stamp Plush Dies! I think I have made (at least) one of each one. They are a cheerful project to work on, and the finished cute animals bring a smile to whoever I give them too. I thought it would be neat to make Winter versions of some of the animals I’ve already made. So, today I introduce Winter Fox, Snow Bunny and Winter Owl! I used soft shades of grey and cream and then accented with pops of beautiful red felt.

You can use these finished felties as package tie ons, pins to wear, Christmas tree ornaments, decorations, and lots of other things! You can change the look to fit any theme. I hope you’ll try it!

1

The Winter Fox (Gentle Fox Plush Die) is a pretty grey fox with pink ears and cream accents. to make his scarf, I cut a strip of red felt and then cut into the edges to make fringe. I wrapped it around his neck and did a quick stitch to hold it in place.

2

I like to use Doodlebug Enamel Dots for the eyes on my felt animals. I like that they are shiny and you can choose from several sizes to fit the look you want.

3

Here is the little white snowy bunny (Plush Baby Bunny Die)! I used the bow tie from another die to give him a dapper red tie for Christmas! I also used a white pom pom for his tail. Use Felt Glue to attach the accents! So easy!

And the wee little Winter Owl (Plush Baby Owl Die)! He’s so cute! He is showing his love with a pretty red heart on his chest. To give the animals rosy pink cheeks, I used a brush and a bit of SSS Hollyhock Ink! I think that gives just a little extra touch of cute!

  1. Oh. My. Stars! These are absolutely adorable! My favourite winter crafting project: making Advent Calendar tags/mini cards for my niece and nephew. This year: mini envelopes mailed every day so they have happy mail to open for (nearly) 25 days. Thank you for the smiles today…

  2. Those are so cute! I can see how it would be so much fun to “dress” them to the season. My #1 favorite holiday craft is handprint snowman ornaments & fingerprint reindeer with my kids. It’s great to preserve their size/age & make perfect gifts!

  3. So so so sweet. I love that heathery gray felt. I can see these making a very sweet baby mobile. Or fill with some herbs/spice, or essential oils, and rice and make them into adorable scented handwarmers

  4. So adorable! & charming! The colors are just as enchanting as the creatures themselves! My favorite winter holiday crafting project (as of late) is making pompom wreaths/garlands – so fun!!

  5. My favourite winer craft would be card making and quilt projects! These little animals would look adorable on the tree!

  6. Oh these are so cute and we have little grandchildren that would absolutely love them! They are going on my wish list….

  7. Oh wow! Such cutie little sweet critters!!!
My Winter Holiday crafting project is my first mini album.

  8. Gah! I love that owl! I just received a pack of felt from Etsy and am waiting for my Plush dies from Simon Says Stamp! Can’t wait to start creating with these!

  9. My favorite winter crafting projects are scrapbook albums and card making. These plushies are so cute, though, that I might have to give them a try!

  10. These plush dies have been on my wish list since they came out! They are all so adorable. And so many possibilities! My favorite winter crafting project is making ornaments for my nieces & nephews every year.

  11. So super cute!! I’ve been having fun decorating wood shapes for home decor!! I’m using all sorts of paper, embellishments and enamel embossing powders.

  12. My favorite holiday craft is making cards for nursing homes. I would love to add some of these fun critters in the packages of cards.

  13. How cute are these!!! Im really not sure what my favorite holiday craft is cause this is my first year as a crafter. I must say Ive seen some GREAT ideas though

  14. These are adorable and beautifully sewn.I love making Christmas cards as a rule, but this year I seem to be churning out mini banners :-)

  15. I especially love the sweet owl. Such a cute face. Your stitching is so perfect. Wish I had straight stitching as my super power.

  16. I too love making felties. So satisfying, a quick and finished project. I love making tags. This year I am making sets of tags for loved ones. I am having the most fun!

  17. These felt plush animals are adorable! My favorite Christmas craft is making some small keepsake gift for the students in my class each year.

  18. OMGEE these little plushies are adorbs! My favorite winter crafting project is to make tree ornaments. They make nice gifts and I always add a couple to our tree as well. We didn’t start having a tree (living in a tiny NYC apartment) until recently and that first year I made every single ornament for our tree. Now I can leisurely make a few special ones that represent the prior year we had. :)

  19. These little felties are so cute. I haven’t yet got into making them yet. My favorite winter craft is scrapbooking and making cards.

  20. I want to be like Buddy the elf and just say crafting is my favorite, but if I have to pick one thing right now, it’s decorating kraft wrapping paper/gift bags/tags for presents. :)

Your little felties are so beautifully made! The details are so sweet, like the little scarf. I haven’t seen the baby owl before–absolutely adorable.

  21. These are adorable.
I love making gift tags for Christmas. I can work on them on a car trip or sitting around with my family.
Currently I’m repurposing coffee cans. I use die cuts to mask an area then paint over it to customize each one.

  22. I love these Wanda. I think I told you before, they remind me of my girl scout leader days. Used tons of felt. For me winter takes me to knitting. I still make lots of cards, but winter seems to take me to scarves and mittens!

  23. Wanda, I just love your little felt cuties! Dressing them up for winter was a wonderful idea. I think they would look really good as tree ornaments! I like all of them but if I had to pick one, I think it would be the owl! Thanks for some great winter inspiration!

  24. Love your felties projects! My favorite winter holiday projects are making Pysanky egg ornaments for family and friends!

  25. All of these little critters are so cute! Now that my Christmas cards are made I can move on to something else. I thing my favorite would have to be the fox. Thanks for sharing.

  26. I enjoy making a fuss over Christmas cards…the addressing, embossing the envelopes. Whether store bought, photo cards or handmade…I love cute envelopes!

  27. The felties are absolutely adorable!!!! I like making different ornaments each year for my granddaughter, especially plush ones!!

  28. I absolutely adore these precious little critters!

My favorite winter project to make is altered items. I give so many as gifts. In fact I am busy in my craft room right now working on quite a few. ;)

  29. Very cute. I really like them, just not sure I’m patient enough to make these…but they’re really very sweet.

  30. These are just adorable! I don’t have any stitching dies, but I do have plenty of felt! Wish you were near here to do a class! I love making Christmas cards, but my favorite other thing is decorating candles. Thanks for a chance to win!

  31. Your animals are adorable! I love making felties, too! In fact, I just finished 30 of them for my daughter’s 4th grade students. I used the SSS owl and big ear bunny dies. The bunny die is especially great because it can be used to make other animals. I used it to make bears, dogs, penguins and lions. I’m planning to make some cats, too. So fun!

  32. Oh my these are so cute! I love the fox and rabbit but that little owl just stole my heart! My favourite winter crafting project is making Christmas related decorations and cards, etc but I’m always also very busy with birthday projects, since my hubby, 2 best friends and both of my parents celebrate their birthday in December / January
