Hello and welcome to day 3 of Summer School!

Today we’re sharing a card created by Nichol Magouirk using lots of products from the new Teacher’s Pet release! This card would be great for men and women teachers and features some awesome products and techniques!

The black embossing paste over the black cardstock is perfect for some great texture without being too obvious. And like yesterday’s card by Shari, Nichol chose to have the the Teacher die-cut be the punch of color on the card.

The layered tags and mix of stars on the background, pull this card together and make it that much more special! Those little details don’t seem like a lot, but they really make the card!

To see how Nichol created her card, you can watch the video below.

Summer School wouldn’t be complete without the chance to win some crafty school supplies, right!?

  2. Such a great card!! I don’t have kids going back to school, but when I was a kid we always went back to school after Labor Day. But, we didn’t get out of school until well into June. Now they start earlier, but they also get out earlier… usually by the end of May. Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway!!!

  3. Very pretty card. I love the velum tag with white embossing.
I homeschool my kids, so we always start right after Labor Day.

  4. Love the softness in Nichol’s stuff! I don’t have children but we always started after Labor Day. Thanks for a chance to win wonderful product!

  5. I am giving classes for summer school now, so I can’t wait for the semester to finish, and just don’t want to think about going back yet! :-P

  6. I have one daughter who is still in school and she goes back Sept. 2. My other daughter is in grad school and goes back August 25. I also work in my daughter’s school but staff reports back on Aug. 26. Summer has gone by WAY TOO fast this year. :( Thanks for a chance to win. :D

  7. Love the tone on tone background using the paste! Such a fab card perfect for any teacher! My kids have been in school since Monday! It’s nice to be back into a routine!

  8. My grandkids go back to school Monday, Aug. 11, that’s a full month and then some earlier than when my kids were young. Short summer! Thanks for the summer school fun!

  9. Love this card, I’m so sad summer is over, my kid goes back to school on the 18th, I on the other hand, start the 11th.

  10. My oldest, who’s heading to Alabama (Roll Tide!) as a freshman, checks in on the 16th and starts on the 20th. My younger three all start on Sept. 2nd. I’m also digging the all black background card-very unexpected and cool.

  11. Hi! Great card Nichol! We’re in Oregon and our kids don’t go back to school until the beginning of September. I’m just realizing we’re gonna have to start the back to school shopping soon… Ooooohh boy!

  12. I have one in graduate school – classes don’t start for her until mid-September. I love back-to-school time – I think back-to-school supplies are what started my love for paper crafts!

  13. I always started school after Labor Day as a student, but my start date moved to mid-August once I became a teacher.

  14. My daughter who going into her last year of high school, starts school a week ahead of other schools in the board and gets a week off in November! Modified school year.

  15. I don’t have any kids going back to school, but I sure enjoyed this video, and picked up some good hints. Thanks.

  16. Oh Nichol your work always amazes me! This is the first year I won’t be returning to school as a teacher, but the first in five years I’ll be returning as a student! I start August 18th :)

  17. Here in Australia the school year starts in February…After our summer holidays and the Christmas season. My children are long past my needing to remember the dates, but I have young grandchildren filing up through the ranks.
I am enjoying the summer school projects, oh and what a very desirable goodie bag, yummo.

  18. School is starting here on the 18th. Since this is a very small town, that is a big deal for everyone.

  19. Now that is a cool card!
My boys actually start the first week of September this year—what a switch!
