Summer School with Nichol Magouirk
Hello and welcome to day 3 of Summer School!
Today we’re sharing a card created by Nichol Magouirk using lots of products from the new Teacher’s Pet release! This card would be great for men and women teachers and features some awesome products and techniques!
The black embossing paste over the black cardstock is perfect for some great texture without being too obvious. And like yesterday’s card by Shari, Nichol chose to have the the Teacher die-cut be the punch of color on the card.
The layered tags and mix of stars on the background, pull this card together and make it that much more special! Those little details don’t seem like a lot, but they really make the card!

I love the little tags on this card; it’s just something about that gray! I live in Canada. I always went back to school the day after labour day (even if it was in the middle of the week). I think kids still go back to school at that time.

Great card, love the colour combination and the stencilling. In Australia we have only 2 weeks holiday in mid winter so kids have already been back at school for a couple of weeks.

My son goes back to school on August 18…right after we come back from the beach. When I was young…eons ago…we started school after labor day.
This is the first year with no children returning to school. No more college tuition! Yea!

I no longer have kids in school but I remember fondly those days. I loved shopping for back to school, the smell of new school supplies, the many colors of the crayons, the designs on the notebooks. Good times.
I don’t have any kids in school. We always knew when I was in school that Labor Day was the last of our summer vacation! The kids here in eastern NC go back at so many different times that I cannot possibly keep track. Some are already back in school.
When I was a kid we always went back to school in September. We start the day after labour day.

I graduated about 3 years ago so it’s been a couple of years since my last “first day of school.” I don’t miss them at all! lol

I grew up in WV and always started school after Labor Day. When we moved to SC 30 years ago, school started the second week of August. But since I am a retired teacher, I can say that there never was a time that I was not thinking and planning for my students. I worked on my plans for the next year all summer long. Now I am a crafter and again I create every day!
School starts August 25th here and I can NOT wait!! It’s my favorite day of the year!

As a teacher and part of the school wide support staff, I have to be back today August 7th. Our students start on Tuesday, August 12th, as our school district has pushed back the start date from September to August :(. On the up side, we end in early June.
My school started after Labor Day. Of course, that was a few years ago! Love the stenciled bg and the red really pops!

I love the background, so elegant card.. well, when I was at elementary school I started classes on Sep 1st then in collage I started on the second half of August.
My grand kids start back next Tuesday the 12th. We also have a few schools in town that go year round so they have been in school for a couple of weeks already.
When I was in school we started the day after Labor Day!

My kids went back to school July 10th. :( They get out in mid May, but it just seems like summer flew by. They also don’t have school on Fridays until after Christmas break. :) Love the card Nichol!
Back to school is August 22nd, hard to get used to since coming to Austin TX. LOVE the black on black of this beautiful card.
school starts August 19th. What ever happened to having June, July and August as summer vacation? I’d rather have the days off in the summer than the long breaks in the winter when the weather is nasty and it’s dark by 5PM.
