Hi readers! Happy Saturday! How is your weekend going so far? I’m so pleased to have our pal Teri Anderson back on the blog with a bright pop of color blocking inspiration for the blog today! She’s using some of her fun new stamp designs from Technique Tuesday that include Rah Rah, I Like You, & Darn Good Day to make these fun cards.
Hi, everyone!Teri here, and I’m happy to be here again. Thanks for inviting me back, Simon friends!
I brought a few cards to share with you today that I made with the new Rah Rah Sentiments stamp set.
This is one of a couple of new stamp sets I designed for Technique Tuesday that are available here at Simon Says Stamp! If you you look at this set and my I Like You and Darn Good Day sets, you’ll see I’ve been including lots of words in my recent stamp sets.
I am a card maker first and foremost. And I love a good sentiment that I can just stamp on a card and be done. But it’s sometimes nice to “sauce” things up a bit.
So I came up with some fun little sentiment banners that pack a little bit of punch when put on card..
They are pretty easy to make. Simply stamp a sentiment on a piece of cardstock. Add a little bit vellum underneath. Be sure to cut a notch in the vellum so it look a bit like a banner. You want something that looks like these here.
And then use markers, pencils or crayons to color in some of the open parts of the letters. I find less color is more when adding color to stamped sentiments. So I try to limit myself to just coloring in the open spaces of the scripty, handwritten words.
On the Sizzle card at the top of the post I just flipped my card horizontally and changed out the paper sizes.
Thanks so much for reading today and thanks to Teri for being our guest!

Very adorable color combinations!
A great way to use up any leftovers :) thanks for sharing :(
Love these sentiments, Teri, and your very colorful cards! You are never afraid of color! That’s super! I need to be better about combining bright colors like you do! TFS!
Cool words on your cards!
Beautiful cards here from Teri, and I love the bright colors, she´s used. That´s something we really neeed now after this long cold and dark and greay winter here, so this is such a wonderful and colorful input to another grey and rainy day here today.
I love these new Technique Tuesday stamps and the colors in the cards are so cute!
great bold Color combinations… such a feeling like spring !!!
and the Sentiments are amazing.
TFS … Terie
I love these bright, vibrant cards.
Love the vibrant colours paired with the vellum and coloured words.
Love how colorful these cards are :)
To be honest these stamps are not my piece of cake. I’m more fan of stamps like ‘you are such a sweetheart (with a little chocolate heart)’ or ‘I waf you this much (with a dog holding a heart). But the cards look great! :) A nice way to use up your scraps to!

I never think to just use cardstock – I have so much patterned paper!!! However, I love the clean, bold look. The sentiments are a hoot – I’m off to look!

Wow! That pop of color is fantastic! Love the sentiments too.
I love this idea of making up sentiment banners to have them on hand when you need a quick card. Or to make a card set where the sentiments are the main focus. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love the colors. So bright and cheerful. The sentiments are perfect to make a clean and simple card. Thank you for showing us how to use up our scrapes of paper
