Poinsettia Gift Card with Shari

Happy Die-Cember™ the 3rd! It’s Shari here with a card idea using a couple fabulous Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies. I created a gift card holder using the Tag and Bookplates die which I have manipulated to hold the gift card and fit perfectly on my card.

I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the Tim Holtz Poinsettia die! I cut out the flower using Simon Says Stamp Khaki card stock (YUM) and colored it with Distress inks. I’ve had visions of covering this flower with Rock Candy Distress Glitter which allows the color to come through and be delicously glittery!

To finish things off, I mounted everything onto an Olive card stock. I’ve put together a video with the complete process.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you’re having a great week. Enjoy!

  1. Beautiful card, Shari. Great idea to fold the paper and get a longer die cut! The poinsettia is just beautiful, with the shine from the glue and glitter.

  2. Beautiful gift card holder. The poinsettia is amazing. I don’t own that die yet but think it might be a must have!!!!

  3. Nothing says Christmas like a poinsettia! Love yours, Shari.
FYI, the poinsettia flower is actually the yellow center. The red (or color other then green) bracts are modified leaves.

  4. Shari, this is gorgeous! I made some of these last week using Tim’s stains instead of inks, and covered all the pieces with Rock Candy distress glitter. I love the Antique Linen that you used in the middle! I also love the stamping you did on yours. Great idea with the gift card holder.

  5. beautiful Shari – I will be making some of these this year! …. I was thinking I would make the poinsettia an ornament though, it is so beautiful!

  6. Beautiful gift card holder and card! The poinsettia is gorgeous. Loved the olive and khaki color scheme used. I like your stamping idea as well.

  7. That’s gorgeous – I love your glittery poinsettia! I never would have thought of using patterned paper – thank you for the idea!

  8. That khaki green is a color I will use a lot! I love the effect of the distress glitter on the poinsettia. The tag is just beautiful!

  9. This is an amazing card, Shari! I love the new inks and papers. I bought them as a Christmas gift to myself(Ho! Ho! Ho!). What a great addition to the SSS line of products. In addition, I love the way you use non-holiday stamps( Tim Holtz Papillon stamp) to serve as a beautiful backdrop for a holiday card. It’s one of my favorite stamp sets!
