Hi, Simon friends!
I’m happy to be here again! Always fun to swing by! Technique Tuesday recently started producing products designed on the artwork of Cath Edvalson. Some of you night know Cath from her time as Trends editor at Paper Crafts magazine and when she wrote on the Moxie Fab World blog.

Simon Says Stamp! is one of the first retailers to carry Cath’s products so I thought it’d be fun to share a couple cards made with one of my favorite Cath products, the Garden Leaves die. The die is based on some paper cutting Cath did.

I think it’s fun to create a stained glass look with the leaf.

Die-cut it a couple times from cardstock. Adhere it to a card and then use your markers to color in some of the openings. For a modern look, use bold colors like I did.

The die also comes with a mat.

So here I cut a couple mats from vellum. And then I added some leaves cut from white cardstock on top.
Here’s the tricky part: I flipped the leaves over and then used the same markers (the very same ones I used on the last card) and colored behind the leaves again.
If you try this at home, be sure to use bold colors. The vellum will mute the colors quite a bit. Finish the card off with a touch of sparkle!

Alright! Thanks for having me again today, Simon friends! Wishing you happiness in 2016!
