DIY Surprise Snowman Card!
Hi readers! Happy Tuesday! Please join me in a BIG Simon welcome to guest designer Darlene Devries! I think you’re really going to like this idea for a holiday card design. So unique and fun and easy to incorporate your family photo! Take a peek at the tutorial and be sure to watch the video too! Enjoy!
Hi Everyone!
I’m very excited and honored to be a guest on the Simon Says Stamp blog today! Every year I make a special holiday photo card to send out to family and friends, so I thought I would take this guest opportunity to share this year’s card with you. I really like to make it interactive, and this year is no different.
It’s a waterfall card made from a snowman! If you pull the tab that says “pull”, the snowman parts flip over to reveal a message underneath. The final “landing” snowman part has our holiday photo and the pull tab has a personal message. Here are a few photos in action:
The final full-open card:
Since I’m making 40 of these cards, I tried to simplify everything. For example, the background is a stamp with white ink. Instead, you could heat emboss it with white powder or add some embossing paste with a stencil.
Watch the video for a step-by-step tutorial on how to make the card. I also included a few card-making tips and tricks, such as Copic blending with 2 markers and aligning your card panels. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
Darlene
