Love Machine!

Hi there! Happy Monday to you! We’re pleased to have Sandy Allnock as a guest designer on our blog today! She is such an awesome Copic color-er, so be sure to watch her video in its entirety to get lots of tips & tricks!!

Enjoy!

—————————————-

I’m looking forward to a year full of creative inspiration – so let’s get started today by doing a little laundry, why don’t we?

This little deceptively simple stamp in the Paper Smooches “Squeaky Clean” set can be a star feature on a love card when colored to look dimensional with your Copic Markers. Watch this short video to see two ways to pull that off!

Both images are stamped on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Copic Colors: R24, R37, R89, W3, W0, W00. And a white Signo pen was used for the highlighting.

The first card made from these colored images is totally clean and simple; the sentiment was heat embossed with clear embossing powder onto a black card base (it’s white inside); the last sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder. Add the washing machine using a little Stamp Runner, and voilá! Easy peasy card for your sweetie!

The design on this second card is a little more complex, using papers from BoBunny’s Natural Necessities 6×6 from the Double Dots line, and some Viva Paper Pen (opal) for the buttons on the washer as well as some additional decoration on the card.

Thanks so much for popping in to see the card – go start the new year off right – and create something!

  1. Hi Sandy, love the style of your coloring! Had a hard time to figure out which card I would prefer. Now I decided to like nr. 1 a little bit more, think it´s harder to read but the red heart is just a “burner”! Thanks for sharing your talent!

  2. Gorgeous coloring Sandy. Both cards are great, but the red heart really does it for me.

  3. My fav is the first card with that amazing red heart. Great video, thanks for sharing.

  4. Funny how one little stamp can have such a big impact…wonderful cards and your colouring is truly amazing!

  5. What fun cards – I never would’ve thought to use this set this way! I always enjoy watching Sandy color – she’s ah-maaa-zing! Thank you, SSS for featuring this incredible lady.

  6. Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. I love both cards but I would have to say the second one is my favorite just because of all the different patterned papers.

  7. Great tutorial. I love the red one with the gray/metallic heart. Both are very well done, though.

  8. Great cards!! Love the design. I will have to watch the video now! Thanks for sharing.

    Katie B.

  9. Great cards and coloring tips. I have spectrum bouts and just can’t achieve the same looks…I may need to invest in copics this year!! :)
I live the stamp and saying…I just feel like singing “I’m just a love machine!” LOL

  10. Lovely cards Sandy. Thank you for sharing the video with us. Lovely coloring technique.

  11. My favorite is the one using black cardstock. Black is usually used as an accent color and I love the way colors pop on black.

  12. Gorgeous cards. I also have a thing for red appliances so I like the red washer with the white heart a little more.

  13. You color amazing Sandy. Thank you for all your videos. I learn so much from them.
