Love Machine!

Hi there! Happy Monday to you! We’re pleased to have Sandy Allnock as a guest designer on our blog today! She is such an awesome Copic color-er, so be sure to watch her video in its entirety to get lots of tips & tricks!!

Enjoy!

—————————————-

I’m looking forward to a year full of creative inspiration – so let’s get started today by doing a little laundry, why don’t we?

This little deceptively simple stamp in the Paper Smooches “Squeaky Clean” set can be a star feature on a love card when colored to look dimensional with your Copic Markers. Watch this short video to see two ways to pull that off!

Both images are stamped on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Copic Colors: R24, R37, R89, W3, W0, W00. And a white Signo pen was used for the highlighting.

The first card made from these colored images is totally clean and simple; the sentiment was heat embossed with clear embossing powder onto a black card base (it’s white inside); the last sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder. Add the washing machine using a little Stamp Runner, and voilá! Easy peasy card for your sweetie!

The design on this second card is a little more complex, using papers from BoBunny’s Natural Necessities 6×6 from the Double Dots line, and some Viva Paper Pen (opal) for the buttons on the washer as well as some additional decoration on the card.

Thanks so much for popping in to see the card – go start the new year off right – and create something!

  1. Oh I love how you achieve the metallic look on both however I think I like the red with white heart. Although receiving either would make me very happy!
Sandy, I love your videos I always learn something and I so enjoy learning something new.

  2. Love both cards, Sandy, but I’m drawn to the second card. I just adore the metallic, silvery heart on the red machine. Thanks for the advice about highlights. Charming!

  3. Both cards are gorgeous! No way to pick a favorite. You make copic coloring look so easy. Still too timid to try it – but watching you has given me a reason to try. Thanks for sharing your talents.

  4. Sandy, I like them both, but…I am a sucker for anything black and white polka dotted, so the red washing machine is my favorite. Besides, the gray heart reminds me sudsy water that could be seen in the washer!

  5. Sandy, your cards are too cute :) I could do either of those for my husband who does the laundry in our house!

  6. Thanks so much! I learned a lot in a few minutes. My favourite one is the white heart in the red appliance!
what a lovely way to begin my day.

  7. Red is the hardest color for me to use. Thanks for the tips. And thanks for featuring Copics!

  8. You really want us to decide.. well if I have too I would go with the red love machine cause I love the papers you paired with it. But honestly, they are both wonderful. Thanks for sharing!
