Love Machine!

Hi there! Happy Monday to you! We’re pleased to have Sandy Allnock as a guest designer on our blog today! She is such an awesome Copic color-er, so be sure to watch her video in its entirety to get lots of tips & tricks!!

Enjoy!

—————————————-

I’m looking forward to a year full of creative inspiration – so let’s get started today by doing a little laundry, why don’t we?

This little deceptively simple stamp in the Paper Smooches “Squeaky Clean” set can be a star feature on a love card when colored to look dimensional with your Copic Markers. Watch this short video to see two ways to pull that off!

Both images are stamped on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Copic Colors: R24, R37, R89, W3, W0, W00. And a white Signo pen was used for the highlighting.

The first card made from these colored images is totally clean and simple; the sentiment was heat embossed with clear embossing powder onto a black card base (it’s white inside); the last sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder. Add the washing machine using a little Stamp Runner, and voilá! Easy peasy card for your sweetie!

The design on this second card is a little more complex, using papers from BoBunny’s Natural Necessities 6×6 from the Double Dots line, and some Viva Paper Pen (opal) for the buttons on the washer as well as some additional decoration on the card.

Thanks so much for popping in to see the card – go start the new year off right – and create something!

  1. Both these cards are so cute! I am intimidated by Copic coloring but Sandy, you make it look easy!

  2. I like card #2. I like the way the coloring looks like clothes in the machine. Thanks for a great lesson.

  3. Wow, thank you. It’s hard to decide, which one – I love both! I just started with Copic Markers and I’m very thankfull for your tutorial.

  4. While I can appreciate the red-hot washer ( I have some red KitchenAid appliances, and they really heat up the kitchen!), my fave is the black based card. Love how the sentiment starts out dark and gets washed white by love? Maybe reading too much in there, but the washer and red heart really pop! Thanks for the tute, Sandy. You make it took so effortless!

  5. Both are terrific cards. I would have never used all those different color pens to color with. Thanks so much for sharing this. I can’t wait to smush some colors together and try this. Hope mine looks as good as yours! I love the red washing machine.

  6. WOW and WOW! these are amazing! I’m still intimidated by Copics, but you’ve certainly sparked the flames of inspiration with these two gems!

  7. amazing how 3D these look. I was sure the red card was over laid with Crystal effects. what a great tutorial. I like the red machine best! :)

  8. Prefer the white background as there is far more ‘pop’ with the image and colors…..much easier to read, too. Great job….maybe someday I’ll overcome my intimidation of copics (after I see your work) and give it a try.

  9. You make it look way to easy!! Now I have a list of red colors to purchase, thanks to your enabling!! *wink…I love the first card!!

  10. I love the black card the best. It is so simple, it looks elegant. Totally love your colouring in with copics. Thank you for sharing!

  11. That is some super-amazing coloring!!!! Wow. TFS!

  12. Thank you, Sandy and Simon Says Stamp, for this video. I am very excited about any beginning tutorials on Copics, as a just received a set of 36 today. My first! Of the colors you used, my set only has W3. Shucks!
P.S. My favorite card is the layered one. Thanks again
