STAMPtember defined:

STAMPtember® (stmp-tmbr) is defined by Simon Says Stamp… an event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate our community of stampers.

Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an obsession for rubber stamps. However, it didn’t take long until we became a One Stop Shop. Now Simon Says Stamp and STAMPtember® is so much more than stamps! This year you’ll also see a focus on many other exciting products like dies, notecards, and some very special surprises. Our intention is to be your one stop shop in this awesome community! Rubber stamps still remain at the heart of our business, and we are celebrating by releasing exclusive products with many of the industry’s finest brands. Be sure to visit our Blog as the home base for the festivities!

Trust me when I tell you that the activities this year are exceptional, and we have fun surprises to keep you on your toes ALL month long!  We hope you find a product or two from our special exclusive collection releasing today that you LOVE!

  1. I got into stamping in a roundabout way. I was making jewellery and got a Big Shot to emboss metal. Then I discovered the world of papercrafting dies. While looking at dies, I started seeing how people were colouring stamped images and it lit the spark. I love to paint, but I don’t really like to draw and think my own drawing isn’t as good as my painting. Using the drawings of others, in the form of stamps, I can let myself free to paint and colour with different mediums. I still do make jewellery from time to time but the papercrafting and stamping has really taken over.

  2. What a fab release!! Have lots of things in the cart and just waiting for the first collaboration that you have. I am sure that I will NEED it!

  3. I attended a craft show in the late 90’s & watched a gal make cute cards with brass stencils & a light box. I’ve been hooked on paper crafting ever since. My few brass stencils have turned into a whole room full of supplies! I love paper crafting!!!

  4. I started making cards about 15 years ago. First with Photo suite on my computer. Then I bought a Cricut. Had so much fun making project with my grandkids. Lots of project boards. Then I discovered at my local hardware an awesome bunch of ladies who created such beautiful things with stamps and Memory Box dies. I have been hooked since then. Now through SSS and the loads of other companies that keep thrilling me with new things I consider myself a full fledged card maker….

  5. I’ve been crafting for at least 10 years. I got a cricut for a Christmas gift and then started with stamps and die cuts.
Love the new releases but prices seem much higher.

  6. Happy Stamptember ! So many awesome new products ( making my list already). I started stamping many years ago; I used to make bookmarks as gifts and I loved seeing other peoples stamp work. Then I started using stamps on newsletters for organizations I belonged to ( I thought that was so cool); somehow that evolved into making cards; then I started making cards for various organizations (OWH and nursing homes ) and I started growing my collection of stamps.

  7. I got into stamping at a Stampin’ up party about 36 years ago. I was hooked from the first image I stamped!! Love this release and I can’t wait to see what goodies you have for us this Stamptember!!!

  8. I started quilling and wanted to do something with my projects. My mom was card making and I started learning from her 15 or 16 years ago. And it just took off from there!

  9. Happy Stamptember! It’s my favorite month of the year :) I’ve been papercrafting for over 20 years. Started out scrapbooking and then into card making. I love learning new techniques and trying new products.

  10. I’m so EXCITED Stamptember has started!!! September is my favorite month in general but now it’s my doubly favorite since it’s full of crafty goodness.

When I was young I use to stamp and color images with my Mom. But I didn’t really start my stamp obsession until a few years ago…I have it so bad! But there are soooo many amazing stamps!

  11. I love Stamptember! I’ve been in stamping for about 27 years now. My grandpa, who owned a printIng shop, bought me my first stamp set when I was around nine. I have been hooked ever since. Through the years I’ve done scrapbooking, cutting machines, mixed media, etc. But stamping, especially cards, will always be my favorite that I always come back to! I can’t wait to see what else is in store during the month!

  12. I got a stamp set lightyears ago (LOL) and was immediately in love with stamping, coloring stamps and card making. My first stamp was rubber mounted on wood and I still have it. I love it that STAMPtember is here again and thank you so much in advance for all the great things that are going to happen this month!

  13. I started stamping about 10 years ago, when I got cute little tiny rubber stamps from Tokyo. I used to create pattern papers for my sticker collection and gift wraps.

  14. I am so excited to see all the products and especially all the wonderful inspiration to come. Thank you for Stamptember ????????

  15. My Mom got me started when she was scrapbooking! She gave me a great deal of her stuff as she wasn’t doing it much anymore. I saw cards in my local scrapbook store and it grew from there! That was about 2008! ❤️

  16. I started stamping when I made my Sister’s Wedding invitations! Nothing like being ambitious eh? ;) And then I kept going as I figured making my own cards would save me money, hahahahahahahahaha

  17. I’m so excited to see what you have for this year’s Stamptember. I got into stamping in my teen years so probably around 25 years I have been collecting, playing and loving stamps.

  18. Even as a young girl I loved crafting. I tried it all — from paint-by-number to cross stitch and all things in between. When I retired several years ago I found myself checking crafting sites and watching videos, and I became addicted to card making. I find myself spending time every day in front of my computer getting new ideas. I keep a “wish list” of products and new things I want right beside me and, when my budget allows, I treat myself. My craft room is my “happy place” where I can forget unpleasant things and indulge in my passion. Simon is certainly an inspiration, and I’m so excited by these new items. While I don’t have any of them yet, your Picture Book animals have stolen my heart!

  19. I fell in love with stamping when I saw my mom using a date stamp when I was a kid (one of those ones that had a dial to change the date). My technique has greatly improved in the past 40 years, but I still love the date stamp.

  20. LOVE STAMPtember! It’s always so much fun! Can’t wait to see the awesome collaboration sets! I started stamping about 3 years ago to add sentiments to my cards. Then I started watching Jennifer McGuire videos and the rest is history:)

  21. I’ve been crafting in one form or another since I was 5 years old (over 50 years lol). I stamped a few cards back in the 80’s but moved on to other things as I usually do. This summer I decided that I wanted to make my Christmas cards this year so I started doing a little research to see what was out there these days for card making…… Oh boy was I shocked (and delighted) to find what all is out there in the cardmaking/papercrafting/mixed media world. The fabulous companies, the amazing bloggers and fellow papercrafters, the unbelievable product selection, techniques, styles, my mind was/is blown (in a great way lol). I am slowly getting products for my Christmas cards, once I get thru completing my Christmas cards the sky is the limit. I have been like a kid on Christmas morning for the last few months and I don’t plan to ever look back, I love it all! This is obviously my first STAMPtember and I am so excited and blown away already on day 1, looking forward to everyday this month :)

  22. I started rubber stamping about 25 years ago. I love to write letters and was always interested in decorating my envelopes. I purchased my first stamp at a flea market that I went to and just used it to decorate my envelopes. When I broke my ankle and had way too much time on my hands, I started making cards. Now it is out of control. ha-ha-ha BUT I am happy.

  23. I used to scrapbook and stamped some for that but then I got sick and all my stuff went into storage for a few years while I bounced between hospitals and care centers. I finally got well enough to get my own apartment again and stumbled upon a HSN craft day. They had some cute stamps of a darling little girl named Winnie by Little Darlings Rubber Stamps and I was hooked. I got some of my stuff out of storage and started getting more and more stuff in my stash. Now I am hopelessly addicted and this is my first Stamptember since becoming a stampaholic. I can’t wait to see what y’all have in store for us!

  24. Heidi knows how I got started!! My Granny got me into it when I was young. She taught me how to scrapbook first. I felt like scrapbooking was almost an impossible task – the amount of hours spent on one page! Ah! So I decided to start making cards instead! Have been doing it ever since!

  25. A friend from church lost her son about 10 years ago. When she told me she just sat at home and cried, I told her she was welcome to come to my house, where I sat at home on oxygen 24/7, whenever she needed. She showed up the next day and many more after. She had been given a crate of stamps which she hadn’t even opened. It all started there. From tears to stamps. From grief to laughter.

  26. I started stamping about 20 years ago. I was already doing other crafts and was in a mail-order book club that featured a book one month about stamping with a small set of stamps and ink pad to get you started. I thought it looked fun so I ordered it and the rest is history, as they say.

  27. I was watching YouTube one day about four years ago and came across a video on card making. I had done some scrapbooking years ago so I decided to watch it. The video was by Jennifer McGuire, need I say more?? I was hooked from that day! I started getting supplies and watching her videos all the time. For Christmas I asked for some stamp sets and a MISTI and I’ve been stamping ever since. From Jennifer’s videos I learned about Kristina Werner and they are still my two most favorite crafters to watch on YouTube! Really love the card-making/crafting community!

  28. I started stamping after helping my kids make birthday, christmas and thank you cards for family. Their interest in making stuff waned as mine grew!

  29. Twenty five years ago my husband was in the Army and we were stationed in Georgia. A neighbor down the street on post got me hooked on stamping and scrapbooking! We stamp while Skyping even though we are in different states now.

  30. I started scrapbooking in 2007. A couple years later I took a class at my LSS to learn stamping. I started making cards and haven’t looked back.

  31. I started stamping in 2012 – first it was CAS stamping and then I started learning new techniques like MASKING – oh my goodness – I have been on a stamping collection ever since! Thanks for showing us the new product – have a blessed week!

  32. I have been stamping since I was a kid. I still have some rubber stamp images that my mom mounted onto the ends of used spools from her sewing things. I have been making cards since then!

  33. I am obsessed with pens and colored pencils and I ran into a card making video and got hooked. It has been about 5 years and still love it.

  34. Oh my I wish I could aford to buy some of these gorgeous stamp sets, Beautiful Flowers 2, Birthday Numbers,Your Greatest Dreams,Tiny Words & Nature Mandala. The watercolour prints are a wonderful idea, I love both the stencils and the Party Time,Birthday Cake & Stay Gold Sequins are just gorgeous too, love that there ard different size sequins in the packs.
Sadly it is quite expensive to buy from the USA at the moment as our Aussie dollar is right down against your dollar and when you add the postage it becomes difficult. Add to that the fact that we have now retired and are on a fixed income I will just have to look and wish we lived closer.
I love all the creative ideas that the blog offers up and it has gone a long way to helping me grow in my creative card making, keep up the amazing work.
    Cheers Marg

  35. I started scrapbooking many years ago, which has led to my addiction on stamping and cardmaking. I needed something to keep my mind crisp after a health crisis. Besides everybody loves getting my cards in the mail.

  36. I got started stamping when I had kids.. of course it started with scrapbooking, then party invites, party favors, teacher gifts.. and there was always a needs. PLUS, the kids love to craft with me too. So win win.

  37. I had done a bit of stamping in my teens with some random wooden block stamps from a local craft store but it did not do much for me. However, move forward a few years and I discovered both Tim Holtz and smash books around the same time. I loved (and still do) the mixed media and grungy look of some of Tim’s stuff and loved the documenting your life (and lots of functional cute cat stamps) in a less structured way than scrapbooking with smash books. My stash and likes just grow by the years since then.

  38. Got involved in stamping (kicking and screaming!) by going to a home demo. Was afraid I would be pulled in and boy, was I! 18 years later and I’m still at it! Oh, and loving every minute! Thanks for a great site and product selection!
    Happy Stamptember!

  39. Can not pinpoint when I got started stamping but it has been many, many years ago. I was invited to a Stamp n Up party and have been creating ever since. Happy Stamptember! Looking forward to all the happenings.

  40. I was invited to a Stampin Up party about 20 years ago. That’s when I first started making cards with wood block stamps. It has been a wonderful journey for me. Looking forward to all the events this month.

  41. I started stamping about 14 years ago. Stampin’ Up was my introduction to it. I was scrapbooking at the time, but that quickly went by the wayside.

  42. I’ve always loved creating art and making cards, it wasn’t until I got onto Pinterest that I realised you could actually buy stamps and dies!!! So wild to think all that I’d been missing out on!!

  43. Fabulous new products!! I got bored with scrapbooking and became curious about rubber stamps! The rest is history!
