Hang In There

Hi readers! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope your week is starting off wonderfully. :) Today we have a totally cute card colored with colored pencils and featuring sweet new designs by Avery Elle by the incredibly talented Yainea of My Paper Journey! If you haven’t stopped by her fabulous blog yet, I highly encourage you to do so as it is always so beautiful and inspiring!

We hope this sweet design inspires you today!

It’s Yainea here and I’m so happy to be here again as a guest designer! I’m playing with the new Avery Elle Summer release and I made a card using the Tweet Tweet stamps and dies.

First, I cut a piece of white Neenah cardstock and stamped randomly the leaves of the set to use them as feathers. Then I stamped the rest of the images and colored the bird and feathers using Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol (I LOVE this technique!).

The next step is die cut a white rectangle using Wonky Borders, those stitches look great and add something extra to the card. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and die cut the bird and cage.

We have everything ready, just assemble everything together: I used Tombow glue to adhere the feathers panel to an Avery Elle Aquamarine notecard and foam adhesive to adhere the wonky panel, bird and cage.

As a final touch, I tied some Lawn Fawn twine to the cage and added a little bow. I hope you like my project! Thanks so much to the people of Simon Says Stamp for having me today. Have a great day!!

  1. Love the cute little birdie, your great background, and the wonky rectangle die: they all look so great together!! Hugs, H in Healdsburg

  2. SUPER CUTE card Yainea!!!
LOVE your design, colours and colouring!!!
Gamsol and Prisma pencils are on my list to try :)

  3. Super cute card. Love the stamp set with the bird and love the wonky borders die. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

  4. This card is so so cute! I love the “Tweet tweet” stamp set that Yainea have used and the layout of the card and the coloring! Thank you for sharing!

  5. This is just so sweet! I love the idea of using the leaves as feathers! I am a Senior Caregiver and I have a 96-year old client who is legally blind and suffering with advanced arthritis in her feet. This would be so perfect to encourage her to just “hang in there” as it is really difficult for her to have to give up any of her independence.

  6. Such a wonderful idea for someone having a bad time. The colors are cheerful; the sentiment sweet and just the kind of card that will bring a smile to the face of the receiver. Thank you for the idea!!

  7. Really cute card. Loved how you did the background – so simple yet really makes the card! For some reason, I never think about making my own “designer paper”.
