Foiling Techniques!

Hi everyone, it’s Shari here with some fun foiling techniques to use on your cards.

I thought I’d take this opportunity to show you a few was to use thermal foils from Thermo Web and Heidi Swapp with a laminating machine ( I used my small Minc) and a quick non thermal technique with a glue stick.

My first example uses thermal foiling.  Thermal foiling is a process of using a reactive foil with a heating element machine such as a laminator or Heidi Swapps Minc machine.

I was thrilled when I found Toner Sheets from Thermo Web where I could use my die cuts and foils! Talk about exciting! This card also uses a double foiling technique and some black foil on a die cut.

Have you tried foiling with a glue stick to create a quick background? It’s really easy! For this I used the regular Vintage Foil from Ranger.

I also traced the circles of a stencil with the Heidi Swapp Minc toner pen to create a background on a die cut heart.

I have put together a video explaining how to use a laminating machine and also show you how to do that quick glue stick and foil background. You can watch the video below or on our YouTube channel.

I’ve done some foiling with adhesive.
    thanks for sharing.

  6. I haven’t tried foiling yet. There are so many things I want to try but I am in a bind for a bit and am unable to spend much on my crafts at this moment. I am so excited to see what everyone is doing I cant wait to be able to get my hands on some of this stuff. You did a great job. I like that you didn’t just use it one way, you used it several ways

  7. Thanks for sharing! I’m still new to foiling as I’m still considering whether to make a big investment in a mic machine or buy a cheaper laminator. I love tutorials like these as I can learn Foiling techniques and consider whether g oiling is worth the huge investment! :)
