Flight: Art Journal Page

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!!!

I’ve got an art journal page for you. I had a happy accident on this one (my tape stuck to my Eiffel Tower) and  tried out a couple new techniques. I went with a little more Shabby Chic style with this which is one of my favorite looks.

I started out using Dina Wakley Turquoise paint… and then the layering began!

I added Texture paste and layered more paints on top till I had the look I wanted.

I cut out the Leaf Cluster Die from Sticky Back Canvas, then colored with Distress Paints. The texture on this page makes me happy!

I’ve shot a full process video, and had to speed it up quite a bit to fit in the time allowed. I have all the supplies listed below if you have any questions.

I’ve got a Blog Candy Alert!! Follow our blog via email and comment on this post for a chance to win a special blog candy!

Thanks for coming by today, hope you’re having a great week-end!

  1. Love the journal page with a hint of Paris, Shari. As always thanks for the creative ideas. Loved the journal page!!

  2. WOW, stunning!! I’m new to mixed media techniques and would love to know more about how and what you used to do the background to make it look like peeled paint, love that look!!! Thanks so much for sharing.

  3. I love watching Shari create these journal pages because she is so talented and makes it look so easy. So stunning!

  4. My interest in Art Journaling is there. I love watching other artist do their pages and WOW! I am slowly venturing out into other mediums, finally creating a canvas (one for my daughters wedding reception table display). It was lovely enough to grace her table and that says a lot. I DID GOOD! In your vid, I saw you using a shiny substance and had to click on the thumbnail to see what it was (glaze) I had never seen this product before. Nice stuff! I have made up my mind now to give art journaling a go. I need to win this blog candy first. Lol. Pick me…pick me!!!!,

  5. What a cool art journal page! I look forward to each card and art journal page that you make – so very inspiring! Thanks so much Shari!
