Hi readers! Happy Wednesday to you! I hope you’re having a great week so far! Here in the mid-west section of the United States we’re really starting to settle in to the autumn season. I must admit I love it. The colors, the nip in the air, pulling out cozy sweaters from the bottom drawer… oh it’s all good in my book! Do you enjoy the season? What is your favorite thing about it?

I’m always beyond giddy to have the very talented Kelly Rasmussen as a guest on our blog! She provides such consistently beautiful inspiration and today is of no exception.

Enjoy!

Hi everyone! The arrival of autumn has me anxious to bring back the warm tones to my crafting, so today I’ve got a Thanksgiving card to share featuring some Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp products.

The Simon Says Stamp Pointed Feathers also work great for leaves! I used various colors of Distress Ink mixed with water to color the leaves and then misted them with some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. I also used the Gold Color Shine to create a light wash of color for my background panel.

The Hero Arts Thanksgiving Banner is stamp with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, which I think is the absolute perfect brown color! And it is all mounted onto a Neenah Dessert Storm card base.

I think this card would also be great for a fall birthday — just swap out the sentiment with a birthday message!

CLASS GIVEAWAY:

new supply promo

If ever the world had a shortage of patterned papers, washi tapes, and brads and the only way to save our planet was to gather lots of these things… well I’d be a hero. The odds of this happening seem fairly slim, so rather than continue to be a shopper and collector I’m working towards using more of what I have on hand, and maximizing my crafty fun. What could be better than a class packed with videos and lessons on utilizing your supplies? How about an all-star team of contributors who will be sharing their own unique ideas as well!

Supplies On Hand: making the most of your crafty stash will have you creating cards, scrapbook layouts, and thinking of your supplies in new ways. We will focus on ideas and techniques and sharing how you can find inspiration and make the most of it through more than 8 hours of video instruction, more than 16 PDF files, 4 live video chats, and more! You’ll be asking yourself what you already have that will work and using up all the fabulous treasures already in your hands. This class is now live – and registration is open! Content will be added through October 10th, 2014 and once complete this class will remain open as a self-paced course so that students may return and utilize the materials as much, and for as long, as they like.

  19. It’s great when you have things that you can use for more things than they were intended for, such as these “feathers”. Love the “fall” colours, unfortunately as I live in Australia we are headed for summer. At the moment we are in spring which I love as I have bulbs, lilacs etc flowering and my birthday is coming up which is the only down. The class sounds interesting, my only problem is getting to craft as my son does nothing to help with any housework, or cooking etc as he has Aspergers syndrome AND OCD!!!!! that’s why I’m on a carers pension. Unfortunately after a few serious health problems myself I have no one to look after me!!!! Sorry for the long post!!!!
