Art Journal Page with Shari

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the blog. We have so much going on. Right now, we are at CHA… but before I left… I had to give you my first Journal page for the year.

I’ve decided not to start a new journal for a new year. Instead,  I am continuing in my back to back build as I go journal. So the inspiration for this page is two fold… one being that I’ve decided not to be a paper hoarder anymore. I’m soooo bad! Another inspiration is that we have had such cold weather that it’s making me wish for Spring NOW. I chose paper colors that make me happy.

I need to add an apology in here though, the paper collection I chose has been discontinued… I know right? But I have given some other suggestions for you in the supplies below.

Shari Carroll Who You Are

I love the softness and white space. I used Dreamweaver Pearlescent embossing paste for a little shine.

I love this message from Tim Holtz Just Thoughts stamp set. The strips of papers are really easy to lay down using a Glue Stick, you just want to make sure you start straight otherwise you’ll end up wonky!

I used the Simon Says Stamp Leaf Cluster die to add some white space back into my page. And some Prima flowers for softness.

I’ve also shot a video of the whole process. As usual, I’ve sped it up to fit in in the time allowed. Hope you enjoy!

I like a lot of My Mind’s Eye 6×6 paper pack (this is where my hoarding problem comes in). I have a few suggestions for you below.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great day and think Spring!

  1. Shari, this page is the definition of pretty! Love the softness of the patterned paper and that pearlescent embossing paste looks gorgeous! Such a fabulous page!

Enjoy that warm, California sunshine for me and have fun! ♥

  2. Another beautiful page and a wonderful use of the paper stash. The colors are fantastic. Thanks and I love this concept of making a journal, page by page. I think my crafting friends will love this idea and I will suggest we start a journal the next time we meet at my house.

  3. I always look forward to Shari’s journal pages. Are we going to learn more about the “book” she created to put the pages in?

  4. Lovely, so Spring like. It makes me long for sunshine and some warm weather. Alas, here in the Midwest it’s not to be, but as you say “hunkering down” and doing some serious damage to our paper stashes means you can buy more. Right? lol Thanks for sharing.

  5. What a beautiful page…love your choice of papers and their placement. The pearlescent embossing paste and stencils add such incredible depth.

  6. very fun like that shimmer paste – great idea for a journal – I like the freedom of being able to create flat and then putting it in the journal thanks as always for sharing

  7. Shari, your collages are just FABULOUS! Love this page and the journal covers! Thanks for sharing your talent with us all.

  8. I watched the video this morning. I love how you used your scraps to make the background. Such a fabulous idea and one I have been thinking about since I saw this video. Goodness knows I have plenty of scrap paper lol.

  9. Shari, your creations are always something I know I will love. This is another beautiful design. I love the colors. Thanks.
