  1. First, I LOVE your cards -so simple and yet so elegant! We use traditional ornaments scattered with sentimental ones – ornaments my kids have made and ornaments from trips we’ve taken makes for a trip down memory lane every year!

  2. since my grown children have the lion’s share of the old ornaments, i do a theme tree when we’re home. This year we’ll winter in AZ and only home for 1 week over Christmas, so im likely to not put up any tree.

  3. We have used the same as you the traditional with a few new ones of thinks that respecting things our parents liked and we’re special to them.

  4. Wonderful design. Love the patterns you chose. For our tree we don’t have a theme. We have ornaments that we purchased throughout the years some are from my son’s favorite characters as he has grown and some we have made.

  5. Your cards are just wonderful! Beautiful, but simple enough to create several to mail to friends. We use mostly older ornaments on our tree, anything goes, really. Some are beautiful and fancy, some are popsicle sticks and glue made by my children, but it always comes together beautifully.

  6. We use ornaments we have collected through the years—no theme, but the are like old friends each time I pull them out.

  7. All of our ornaments are older and sentimental. I have ornaments (1950s) from my parents’ and ones I have been given or collected since childhood.

  8. A lot of our ornaments are used for decades. My favorite one is a real nut shell with a very small sleeping doll in it.

  9. I have a traditional Christmas tree – predominately red and green decorations. I always add at least one new ornament each year. I love the memories that come flooding back when I look at the tree, especially the decorations I bought when my son was growing up.

  10. I just started making my Christmas cards yesterday, so I was happy to see your cards – such a lovely and not too labor-intensive idea! I’ve narrowed my tree decorations down to just gold and white, as I’ve passed all of the earlier ornaments on to the kids. I love it!

  11. I love your cards. So simple to reproduce but so elegant. We used to have one of each kind of tree but since moving to a smaller house we just have one with our old ornaments as well.

  12. Love the ease AND beauty of this card! Great for mass producing! Our tree tree has a combination of old and new ornaments. There is a predominance of red, white and blue patriotic ones.

  13. Beautiful cards!!! We have two trees. I have a smaller one with precious moments ornaments. A larger one with ornaments we have collected we have for years. Mostly for kids. Thanks.

  14. Love your cards, especially since they would be easy to mass produce! As for our tree, we have a combination of old, new, traditional, and lots of hand-crafted from friends and family. It’s nice to remember each person as we decorate the tree each year.

  15. Beautiful cards! We use old and new, some from when I was a kid, some from my kids and they still like to get new ornaments. No theme, just fun!

  16. Great cards, Shari! We enjoy using traditional ornaments on our tree, remembering the occasions when we received or purchased them.

  17. I have two colored themes options with a few family mixed in. I make an ornament each year for my three girls, so they can have 18 ornaments or more by the time they leave for school.

  18. Our tree is a mish mash of various decorations collected over the years including ones my kids have made. I long ago game up trying to have order and will let my know teenagers put decorations anywhere they want.

  19. Beautiful cards!

Our tree has ornaments that I was given as a child, mainly mice. My daughter is a ballerina so there are many ballerinas on the tree. And, my son likes polar bear, so there are many polar bears as well. There are a few Star Wars for my husband. He doesn’t get into it like the rest of us.

  20. We use ornaments collected over the years, including many received from students during our 15 years as educators. These cards are simply elegant.

  21. This is a great hop, love your cards! I use a combination of old and new. Some for my grown children and for my grandchildren.

  22. I have two trees, one all red and white and the other is our Sports tree. It has ornaments for all of our favorite teams and sports

  23. Shari, your cards got me going through boxes of Christmas papers to see if I could create a similar look. I really like the crispness of these cards and the non-traditional colors on some. My Christmas tree has always been filled with handmade ornaments made by family and friends. Each has a lovely memory attached to it.

  24. Shari I love these cards!! The warm holiday tones are just perfect and these would be beautiful cards to send out for Christmas. We too use a variety of ornaments on our tree – many were handed down to us! Thank you so much for sharing :)

  25. Love your simple, elegant cards. Perfect for using some pretty paper and making a large number of cards. My tree has old decorations collected over decades. Many are handmade when boys were growing up. My favorite: real glass icicles that were my grandmother’s!

  26. Yes. I bave a themed tree, but I also allow my kids to collect their ornaments every year and put them also on the tree.

  27. Gorgeous cards. We use an assortment of ornaments–from made by our kids, handmade ornaments we’ve received from family and friends (some of then no longer here) and also ornaments we have picked up from our travels. I think handmade is best!

  28. No theme to my tree! When my kids were young, I made each of them a tree ornament every year. When they grew up and began homes of their own, I sent the ornaments with them. They both objected, but I love seeing their ornaments on their own trees! So now I have the leftovers lol!

  29. I love your idea of several cards done slightly different. We use old ornaments that we collected over the years.

  30. I have a tiny space so a tiny tree, with white lights only. Do have some ornaments from friends that implace here and their in my apartment.

  31. OH MY! Hard to believe we have Christmas on the mind already!!!!! I haven’t finished my Halloween cards OR my Thanksgiving ones. BUT these cards by Shari C are ABSOLUTELY getting me in the holiday spirit! So striking!

  32. Very nice card to mass produce. I just do two colors for bulbs then add some more decorative mostly handmade ornaments.

  33. I love these cards. We have a very eclectic Christmas tree with ornaments that the kids have been given by us through the years. Each ornament on our tree holds a special memory.

  34. I love the cards in all three color ways. Quick, easy but still beautiful. Our tree is decorated with all types of ornaments but most are from my husband and my childhood. A lot are also gifts from friends and family.

  35. It is tradition to hunt for th perfect tree and fill it with ornaments which are from vacations, are handmade, etc. I have always gotten each of my children a dated ornament each year and when they got married I gave them their collections. It is fun to see them on their trees.

  36. First, love, love your cards. I will be hopping onto SSS to order the pine needle die and the stamp i now must have! We do not have a themed tree. Our tree is decorated with ornaments made by my son (now 21) or gifts from his God Parents, grand parents, great grandparents or trips we’ve taken over the years. Each one has a story. It’s wonderful but remembering while decorating takes a lot of time, but worth all the stories! Can’t wait!

  37. I just love your cards, I might have to use this idea for next year. We have downsized to a small tree and we use red and white decorations.

  38. Shari, your cards are so beautiful, I absolutely love the Pine Needles Border die and you have showcased them beautifully.
We always have a real tree from the family farm and I always use the ornaments that we have accumulated since we were married, including the little gems made by our children in elementary school!

  39. Love your cards? We always use the ornament we have been using year after year. Many of them are from my parents and in-laws and of course we have a few sweet ornaments from when my daughter was small.
