Multi Medium: Art Journal Page!

Happy Friday everyone! It’s Shari here with some inspiration to get you going for the weekend. I’ve created an art journal page… I know it doesn’t look easy, but I’ve kept things fairly basic for those of you who may be timid to start trying multi mediums.

If you break down the techniques, you’ll see how simple it really is. I started with Gesso to prime my card stock, then added in some embossing paste with the Building Hearts and Zig Zag Dots stencils.

My next step was to add color using Distress sprays and water. I wiped away some of the color with a baby wipe through the Moroccan Stencil to create a muted pattern.

I did a little bit of stamping and added some Prima Art glass glitter to my hearts and I was done! I’ve shot a video of the complete process. You can view it below or on our YouTube channel.

Thanks Card

Hi readers! Happy Thursday to you! I’m happy to welcome back guest designer Kelly Rasmussen to our blog today with a beautiful thank you card to share with you. I always like getting new Thank you card ideas because it seems that those are always so good to have on hand!

Enjoy!

Stamps and wafer thin dies are my two greatest loves in the crafting world. Today I’ve made a card that showcases four die sets from both Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp as well as a floral stamp set from Hero Arts.

I started out by die cutting a piece of vellum using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles dies. Then I stamped a floral pattern using the Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Flowers set and Unicorn Pigment Ink. I adhered this circle to a square card base made from Simon Says Stamp Fog Cardstock (which is the perfect gray) and added some faux stitching with a white gel pen.

Next, I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Small Folded Banner from watercolor cardstock and colored it with a pink watercolor paint.

I really love all the word dies that companies are making these days, so I am thrilled about the Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Thanks set, which features my handwriting! The set includes a 3×4 clear set with a coordinating die, which I featured on my card today.

I finished off the card with some Simon Says Stamp Mini Heart Dies covered with Ranger White Enamel Accents.
