Prayers

Hi readers! Happy Thursday! We’re always happy to welcome back guest designer Kelly Rasmussen to the blog! She made this gorgeous card in my favorite colors, and I didn’t even ask her to! ;) Read on and enjoy!

Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be back as a guest on the blog to share a card using the exclusive Prayers stamp set that was designed by Hero Arts for Simon Says Stamp. This was a STAMPtember® exclusive set that they are bringing back — yay! (COMING SOON!)

I started out by stamping the solid feather image from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day set four times across a white panel. To create the painted look, I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the stamp, then spritzed it with water and stamped it. I held the stamp on the cardstock for about five seconds to give the water a chance to soak into the paper. And the end result is a beautiful hand painted look!

Next I die cut the word “prayers” once from My Favorite Things Steel Grey cardstock and twice from white cardstock. Then I adhered them together to create the dimensional sentiment. I also white heat embossed one of the coordinating messages on that same grey cardstock to finish off the message. Once the sentiment was adhered over the feathers I popped up the panel on an Audrey Blue card base.

I hope you enjoyed the card and wish you all a Happy New Year!

Documenting Adventures with Reverse Confetti

Hi readers! Happy Tuesday! Today we have a special first time guest designer, Heather Pulvirenti of Reverse Confetti! Please join me in giving her a BIG Simon welcome! I love seeing everyday events documented like this one of a day of fun in the snow! Imagine how fun this will be to look back on when this little girl is all grown up!

Hello, Simon friends! I’m so excited to be here today to share a fun Project Life layout I created using a variety of stamps and dies available from Reverse Confetti.

More often than not, the majority of my layouts are created around a picture or set of pictures, and from there I determine my color palette and overall theme of the page.  For today’s layout, I wanted to use some of my favorite photos of my daughter playing in the snow. :)

I love how the bold color of her coat and gloves really popped against the wintry background, and wanted to similarly incorporate bold pops of color throughout my page.  I kept the backgrounds of each of the cards fairly simple, which helped to make the elements added to each card stand out, while also reducing the overall busyness of the page.
