Ye olde backgrounds with May Flaum
I had so many ideas when it came to this challenge. Boots, leather, dusty old west towns, fading sunsets – oh the possibilities of a cowboy riding away…
Ultimately though, I decided I wanted to create a video featuring various techniques for a distressed or aged background. Using tags or plain cardstock as a base, I can play, create, and have all the ‘no pressure’ fun without worrying about messing something up. So for those who perhaps want to bring a bit of the old into their newest creation – here you go!
Distress stain, ink, and of course Dylusions melted chocolate are some of my favorite tools for this job! Also seen in this video are Tim’s burlap and woodgrain stencils.
After filming this video, I did end up turning one of the backgrounds into a finished tag. If you’d like to see that, it is featured on my blog here.
