Simon Says: Splash It On
Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Hip Hop Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are challenging you to
Splash It On
incorporate water into your project. It can be an image of water, or water colouring, or splashing water onto your creation. We will be looking forward to seeing what you make!
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
Remember to click on the person’s name to see all of the details of how we made these creations and leave these wonderful girls some comment love
Amy used a Hero Arts Wave Pattern background stamp along with Hero Arts Ombre Ink, Distress Ink, and Dylusions Paint to create her pair of stunning nautical mixed media cards.
Andrea splashed on a lot of Dylusions Ink Sprays and water to make the backgrounds of her eclectic cards. She also used Tim Holtz’s Cityscape Skyline die and a Spellbinder’s Orange You a Tomato die.
Anna-Karin made a textured watercolor canvas this week, featuring an under the sea scene. Tim Holtz’s Sea Life stamps were perfect for the theme and she worked on a Prima 8 x 10 Watercolor Canvas.
Barbara has used Tim Holtz Illustrated Garden stamp set to create a card. She used Distress spray stain and Distress ink pad as watercolor to color her background.
Cathie used Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Sprays, the Lattice Frameworks die and Simon Says Stamp’s Falling Snow stencil for color and texture in her background. The Garden Flowers are colored with Distress Markers.
Emma’s thoughts turned to a deep blue ocean when making this project and she created an art panel full of texture and dimension using Distress Oxide Inks on the background and adding Dimensional Stars encrusted in Mini Art Stones.
Kath used Distress Oxide Inks splashed with water to create the background for her “Dancing In The Rain” Crazy Bird card
Lols used a new Tim Holtz Flower Jar Stamp Set and some new Oxide Ink Pads for the background, which give a lovely chalky effect when splashed with liquid.
Macarena went for a masculine card which includes two big splashes and a lot of Ephemera Snippets elements, a watercolored gentleman from Time Travelers stamp by Tim Holtz and a background built with Distress Walnut Stain Oxide Ink on embossed Modern Mosaic stamp by MFT.
Maura’s been thinking about Earth Day this week, so she worked in her Dylusions Art Journal, inspired by Stencil Girl’s Sea Turtle stencil and Tim Holtz’s Splash layering stencil, with a sprinkling of Unicorn Rainbow sequins by 28 Lilac Lane.
Meihsia created a mixed media tag using Daniel Smith Watercolors on the background and adding sentiment with Simon Says Stamp Handlettered Greeting Wafer Die.
Sandra had fun making some splashes with Infusions for this card, also using the Bubble stencil and Droplets.
Zoey used Distress Oxide and Tim Holtz Stickers to create this TAG
So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
