Challenge: Holly Jolly Stamping
Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Gentlemen Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is
Holly Jolly Stamping
Frosty the Snowman was a jolly happy soul, with a corn cob pipe and button nose, and two eyes made of coal, tra la la la la. It’s time to turn up the volume on your music system and fill your craft room with Christmas carols and have a jolly time creating a Christmas themed project.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

Andrea created a lovely holiday tag featuring many of Simon’s own products.
Can I just give a big kudos to Simon Says Stamp for the Create Joy release? I am loving the versatility of their stamps, especially the Circle Sayings Holiday set. And I found that they pair perfectly with the circles in Simon’s Scribble Flowers set and Simon’s Sparkle and Shine set. I am such a circle/polka dot addict and these are right up my alley! And Simon’s Snowflake Banner die is nothing short of gorgeous.
Anna-Karin made a glittery winter church.
I had so much fun making a church in memory of an ornament we had as children, that I forgot to add even a single stamp. The base was made with Tim Holtz Sizzix Village Dwelling and extended with the Bell Tower. I used a fun technique to add texture to the walls of the house and embellished it with a tiny Poinsettia plant made with a Simon Says Stamp exclusive die. Deco Sheets and Rock Candy Glitter added to the wintery feeling.
Barbara loves to create for Christmas!
I created this card to celebrate the spirit of Christmas, especially the arrival of Santa Claus! I chose this beautiful vintage photo from the pack Occasions Found relatives by Tim Holtz! It seemed perfect for this time of the year! I love new Distress Lucky clover and I used it to color the leaves . I really love Plaid & Nordic stamps and I enjoyed with them, using contrasting colors to create the background. Distress Glitter Vintage Platinum with Mini weathered winter set gives to my card a festive touch!
Cheiron made a card to celebrate any winter holiday with a message of peace.
I had so much fun this week with stencils and Stickles in my craft room that I nearly forgot about the stamping! I used the Tim Holtz Festive Layering Stencil and texture paste with Distress Inks in Evergreen Bough and Frayed Burlap. Lots of silver stickled berries add a fun festive touch. I finished my card with a simple Peace on Earth sentiment from Simple Sayings set.
Emma is excited that Santa is on his way!
I’m loving the look of metallic this year and when teamed with a touch of nostalgia, I think it’s a match made in heaven! So, with this in mind and using the gorgeous Music Santa stamp and the Tattered Poinsettia die, I combined two of my favourite things to create a very special Christmas card. I watercoloured the image with neutral tones of Distress Marker pens and added it to a background packed full of texture using Transparent Texture Paste and Rock Candy Distress Glitter and micro beads.
Maura is thinking of sweet slumber on a winter night.
I just love my new Santoro Nightlight stamp set! I really wanted to figure out how to use every single stamp in this set on my card. I pulled out my Tombow markers and the Prima water brushes and just had fun coloring the images. I keep hearing how therapeutic coloring is for adults, and I am a believer.
Meihsia was inspired to create an art journal page with Christmas theme.
It’s always fun to create Christmas themed project every year. On my art journal this week, I colored the background with Peerless PBP with a Pentel Aquash Brush. The Santa image was stamped using Music Santa Stamper. I added some Holiday Remnant Rubs and Merriment Tissue Tape to decorate the page.
Michelle is making her lists and checking them twice.
I love Christmas shopping! This Avery Elle Naughty or Nice stamp is perfect for gift-giving. I will be stamping this on everything. Even mittens make the cut cut with my Martha Stewart Precision Scissors. Holly Jolly fun!
Sandra loves making Christmas cards for friends and family
I love making sort of wintery sceneries. The Tree Line stamp set from Tim Holtz is perfect for this. Experimenting some more with Brushos I stamped with the Prussian Blue one. The intensity of the color depending on the Brusho powder with water ratio. I love the big shinny Snowflakes and the texture I gave them using my heat tool to make them bubble.
Suzz cherishes the time off over the holidays where she has lots of time with family, friends and her craft room.
I love playing with my inks and stamps and this week I am sharing a new stamp that just made it’s way into my stamp room. The lovely Memory Box Cabin Pine had me thinking of all the beautiful sky colors with the snowy trees in winter. I made a series of quick and easy holiday cards using a variety of colors for the sky and the trees. The sentiment is from the Penny Black Believe sentiments. I mixed up a variety of colors in the background and on this card I used the Ranger Distress Inks – Blueprint Sketch, Fossilized Amber, and Carved Pumpkin.
So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
