This is Nicola’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past few weeks. It has been a great pleasure to have you along with us :-)

Nicola has altered a book box following the theme of The Secret Garden. For the cover, She has used Tim Holtz Grit Paste with The Crafter’s Workshop Mini Bricks Stencil. The bricks are then coloured using Prima Marketing ‘Earth Tones’ Watercolor pencils and several Tim Holtz Distress Inks. The inside of the book box is decorated using Graphic 45 ‘Secret Garden’ papers

Andrea literally based her project on a book since its base is a book!  She transformed a book into a Rolodex-like file folder with plenty of files (made with We R Memory Keepers Tab Punch Board and Penny Black’s Tabs and Toggles die) and lots of fun embellishments like Tim Holtz’s Paper Dolls.

Anna-Karin is an avid reader and this week’s project is inspired by Stephen King’s Dark Tower series. Every detail on this altered Tim Holtz Assemblage Clock has to do with the story. She used alcohol inks, various stamps, and Letterpress letters. There is a coordinating necklace and bracelet too.

Barbara has created a card inspired by one of her favorite novels: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Victorian set by Tim Holtz  is perfect to represent this novel. Distress ink pads,  Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Ornate and Crinkle ribbon to add a vintage feel to this project!

Cathie was inspired by the book, Beauty and the Beast. She used several Distress inks and paint along the Tim Holtz Flourish background stamp to create the background for her mixed media panel and added the Tim Holtz Trellis Frameworks die behind the vintage enchanted rose focal point.

Emma based her project on Charles Dickens’, The Old Curiosity Shop and created a Vignette Box of curiosities, using plenty of Tim Holtz idea-ology pieces including Quote Chips, Finials and Snippets to bring her “shop” to life!

Kath chose “The Cat In The Hat” by Dr Seuss and had lots of fun with the new Distress Oxides, a Crazy Cat and Tim Holtz Cling Foam Stamps

One of Lols’s favorite books is The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy and she thought that such a magnificent book should have its very own bespoke bookmark! She used a Ringer Stencil and Bubble Stencil along with a Simon’s exclusive Ring Frame Die embossed in gold.

Macarena is addicted to Robert Ludlum’s books about spies and secret agents so she made a very masculine and misteriuos card using Dapper Bigz Die and Gadget Gears Bigz Die and gave it color with Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise, Distress Ground Espresso and Lindy’s Tibetan Poppy Teal sprays.

Maura went right to her favorite books from childhood, The Chronicles of Narnia, for her inspiration this week, using the Tim Holtz Framed Panel, Darkroom Door Bookworm stamp set, and Seth Apter’s new Limited Edition Paper Artsy Set 2 to create her wintry scene.

Meihsia created a mixed media card with an old book page and embellished it using Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Buckle and Prima Flowers Tin Heart.

Sandra’s favorite book is The Secret Garden, she loved it since she read it as a kid. She used lots of washi tape as the base on the Distress Mixed Media #8 tag, that she covered with Opal Magic Blue-Gold Paint and A Bit Jaded, Emerald Isle and The Sage Infusions.
