Challenge: Simon Says… STAMPtember hop!

StamptemberBanners-600x600

Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an interest in exclusively selling rubber stamps. It didn’t take long until we realized we couldn’t stop there. For more than 10 years we have celebrated rubber stamping and its glory. We work to bring companies from around the world together in a one stop shopping environment. Rubber stamps still remain the heart of our business and we are celebrating by hosting a “STAMPtember®” event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the delight of rubber stamping. Part of the enticement of rubber stamping is that stamps can be used in creating or complementing ANYTHING! From stamping dates on bank documents and postage parcels in the early 18th century, rubber stamping has dramatically expanded to include card making, scrapbooking, mixed media and many forms of altering and expressing art.

This week we’ve got something STAMPTASTIC for you – we’re mixing things up and sharing our projects with you hop style!

As always, Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher that will go to a random entry chosen by random generator. To qualify all you need to do is create a new project that ties in (in any way!) with our theme and post it, along with a link back to this challenge, and add a link here. This challenge will end at 11:59pm on Sunday September 14th Eastern time. We will also be choosing some of our entries to put in the spotlight – a special honor where we talk about why we loved that entry in particular and award a special badge too! For the full rules, read the “challenge rules” posted in the side-bar here on our blog.

  1. Amazing line up of designers using various techniques, my most favorite was the use of Stencils to stamp through, using white on Craft and the revival of the John’s coat technique. Fantastic, I have ideas that are running through my head, hope get some new creatives up soon. Thank you designers for the inspiration.

  2. This has been such an inspiring and fun blog hop! So artsy and creative. I wish I could think more outside the box like the design team. There are many techniques I so want to try. Thanks for all the fabulous inspiration!… time to get inky!

  3. Fabulous inspirations, as always, is the challenge only to use Simon Says products or can we use other brands too this week? I want to check as right now I don’t have any SSS products, will pop back later to see if this is answered. Thank you for your help Karen x

    1. Karen~
On the sidebar where it says Challenge rules it says that use of SSS products is not a requirement. Hope this helps!

      1. Saw your response to question & saw this below that was above the challenge Linky:
We are challenging you to embrace STAMPtember! We encourage you to use your favorite Simon brand stamp (or other Simon exclusive) and help us share the STAMPtember love!!
My interpretation of this is that this challenge today requires a Simon stamp or a Simon exclusive stamp. I did see that 2 DT had not Simon exclusive and had Tim Holtz stamps so I’m going to ck to see if this applies to stamps sold by Simon.

        1. I cked in the Simon store and saw the Tim Holtz stamps and many other brands of stamps so I’m figuring that if the stamp is sold by Simon then it meets the rqmt for this challenge. Wonder how this will be checked for each entry if people enter that have a stamp that is not sold thru Simon??? Melissa

      2. My thanks to all of you. I was concerned because it says to use your favourite Simon Says Brand and I assumed that was only SSS products. I will check the store and try to use stamps that SSS sells.
Huge thanks to all of you who left message for me Karen x

        1. Karen you are correct the intent was to encourage use of Simon brand/exclusives. That said – I specifically said encourage vs require because not everyone owns Simon brand stamps, but there are many other brands we sell as well. So long as you’re in the spirit of STAMPtember when you create, we welcome your entry!

  4. I would appreciate it very much if one of the Design Team members would respond and let us know exactly what is required as far as STAMPS for entering this challenge – Simon Says and any other stamps sold at Simon says store???? Thanks for the help – have a blessed day – I am off to do the hop!

    1. Thank you for your question Gail. I will double check for you, but I am pretty sure the challenge is to use one of the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive products (stamps, stencils, dies, inks etc). Happy stamping!

      1. I will pop back tomorrow to double check as I’m still concerned that we must use SSS stamps only. I am so sorry if I have caused trouble with this but I don’t want to create something especially for the challenge and then have that disqualified because it doesn’t fit the category x

        1. The spirit of this hop/challenge was to celebrate Simon Says Stamp – the design team was encouraged (but not required) to use Simon Exclusives as it states in the challenge: “We encourage you to use your favorite Simon brand stamp (or other Simon exclusive) and help us share the STAMPtember love!!”

Note that it says ‘encourage’ and not ‘require’… The spirit of the challenge is celebrating Simon + STAMPtember, so if you have some other stamps available at Simon that you’d like to create with for the challenge – we welcome you to do so!! I won’t be disqualifying anyone for not using an exclusive product.

  5. Crikey ladies I just finished the blog hop – an awful amount of fabulous inspirations with some new to me and old favourite techniques and you showed us how to create those looks too!
Thank you so much for all your hard work and for another fabulous challenge and fantastic inspirations!
Just put in my first entry and thankfully have a few more that I can enter as I’ve checked to see if SSS stocks those stamps! Karen x
