Simon Says: Thinking Of You

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Thanks/Thanksgiving Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week we would like you to create something:

 Thinking Of You

Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November in most countries to recall the end of hostilities of First World War on that date in 1918.

This challenge is dedicated to the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty in all wars. We will remember them.

The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post! You can join 5 times so you could have 5 chances to win! How AWESOME is that!! All winners are chosen randomly, so everyone has an equal chance to win! Woo Hoo!! Good Luck to everyone! The Design Team is looking forward to seeing your crafty makes and will pop around to visit you ASAP!

Nikki from Addicted to Art, has used Tim Holtz’s Large Stems Bigz die to create her layered card. She has incorporated lots of texture with embossing powder, texture paste, Distress Paint and ink using Tim Holtz latticework layering stencil and the coordinating stamp from the Lattice and Flourish stamp set.

Andrea made a couple of colorful cards this week using Inky Antics’ Branching Out stamp set, Prima Tropicals watercolors, Tim Holtz’s Gradient Dot stencil and Echo Park’s Merry Snow stencil.

Anna-Karin made a card this week, inspired by the snow flurries falling outside her window. She used the Simon Says Stamp Outline Winter Floral stamp for the watercolor background, and the Thinking of You Heart as a sentiment.

Barbara continues with her Christmas inspiration! She created a festive card with Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Lumberjack CMS 384Ranger Distress Oxide Spray Vintage Photo and Black SootTim Holtz Sizzix Christmas Ribbon Thinlits dies and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Metallic Droplets.

Cheiron created a card for a bird loving friend to let her know she was thinking of her using a background of Distress Oxide Sprays, Tim Holtz Lumberjack stamps and the Tim Holtz Sizzix Patchwork Bird die. She finished her card with a sentiment from Modern Christmas.

Emma was inspired by a weekend of remembrance and created a project in commemoration. She used a Mini Etcetera Tag covered with paper from the Etcetera Paper Stash and added a Baseboard Paper Doll, surrounded by a wreath of poppies created using Bouquet Findings.

Kath created a simple card and gift tag using the Woodland Whimsy stamp set from Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit with the “Thinking Of You at Christmas” sentiment from Tiny Words Christmas for someone who will find Christmas difficult this year and when Merry or Happy Christmas doesn’t seem appropriate.

Lols made a card using a Aall & Create Hexagon Stem Clear Stamp designed by Tracy Evans. As Remembrance Day is also known as Poppy Day she wanted to make that the feature for this weeks theme. She splattered the background with Dylusions London Blue and Fresh Lime inks and then heat embossed the image before coloring with Copic Markers.

Macarena kept her Thinking of you card in an autumnal mood by making a bouquet with Simon Says Stamp Look For The Rainbows stamps and adding touches of Stampendous Chunky Gold Deep Impression embossing enamel.

Maura was thinking of her art friend, Gwen Lafleur, while she was using Gwen’s new Paper Artsy stamps Eclectica3 EGL02 and Eclectica3 EGL03 on her card. The Simon Says Stamp Thinking of You die adds a bold statement to the card.

Meihsia was inspired to create a watercolored card using Simon Says Stamp Suzy’s Succulents Watercolor Prints and Daniel Smith Ultimate Mixing Hand Poured Watercolor.

Sandra made masculine card using lots of Washi Tape as the base of her card, and started building up with Metallique Paint in Golden MossSteampunk Copper and Rustic Brown. To add texture she used Nuvo Expanding Mousse

Zoey made this card for a friend of hers that is not doing well. She used Ranger GREETINGS Letter It Stamp Set to create the focal point over a textured background that she made mixing Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Pumice Stone and Weathered Wood. To add more texture she used Prima Marketing FINNABAIR 6 Clear Stamp and Pentart M2 Metal Flakes

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!

  1. My comment is in the form of a question. Last week on Simon Says Wednesday the theme was Thinking of You. This week the theme is Thinking of You. May the same cards you used on Wed Challenge be used on this weeks Mon Challenge?
