“W” tutorial with Meihsia

Hi, friends, Meihsia here today to share the tutorial of how I created this mixed media wall decor with various textures and shades of white. There are so many ways to create using white. On this project I incorporated different materials and mediums in white to create the textures, and some dripping ink of teal color to contrast with white.

To start this project, I applied Faber-Castell White Gesso on this 11″ chipboard letter “W”. Gesso is also a great adhesive so I pasted some pieces of Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap Paper on the chipboard when the Gesso was still wet.

The Liquitex Modeling Paste Gel Acrylic Medium was used to create the textures. I also gethered some more materials such as Cheese Cloth and Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Regal Adornments Metal to attach on the chipboard.

I distressed the edges of the chipboard with Memento Dew Drop Ink Pad using Blending Tool, and added the sentiment with Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Alpha Parts Signmarker.

To make those embellishments white, I brushed them with white Gesso. Then I dripped and sprayed Heidi Swapp Tropicana Teal Color Shine on some embellishments and the backgroud of the chipboard to contrast with the white shade.

The texture here was created using Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Honeycomb and Modeling Paste.

As the final touch, I tapped Memento Ink in Gray using Clearsnap Colorbox Art Dauber lightly and randomly on the embellishments.

I hope you like my project and take time to create with the beautiful shades of white.
Happy crafting!
