Simon Says: Winter Blues
Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Thank you for joining us for the Something New Challenge and we hope you will join in with us this week too!
This week we are challenging you to create something with a spot of blue somewhere on your creation.
Winter Blues
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store Remember to click on the person’s name to see all of the details of how we made these creations and leave these wonderful girls some comment love
Amber used blue distress crayons, Perspective stamp set, Scribbles and Splat die, and Plus and Art is stencils to create this art journal page.
Andrea wanted to beat the winter blues by incorporating Tim Holtz’s Wildflowers die into her tag notebooks. She also used Simon Says Stamp’s Circle Loops die and American Crafts paperclips.
Anna-Karin made a mini canvas inspired by the dreary, rainy weather during Christmas and New Year, with added imaginary snow. A really blue weather, but without any blue at all, just lots of grey. She used Hero Arts Winter Silhouettes stamp set on Ranger Dina Wakley’s smallest Media Board (3 x 3 in).
Barbara made a tag inspired by colors of the winter. She used for the background Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Sparkles and Christmas set , Tim Holtz stampers Anonymous Runaway set. Idea-ology Frozen Findings and Ranger Distress Dry Glitter Clear Rock Candy to create embellishments for her project.
Cathie created a card reminding her of the long winter days growing up in Wisconsin. She used the Tim Holtz Snowglobe #2, Tree Line and Small Tattered Florals die sets to create the main elements for her card.
Emma‘s icy blue panel was inspired by long walks in the woods on cold, frosty days. She used a combination of Tim Holtz dies including the Winter Wonderland and Mini Holiday Greens to create a scene placed on a textured background created with the Starry Layering Stencil.
Kath used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Gift Card Package, Swirly Snowflakes Framelits and Festive Greens Thinlits to make gift card holders for January Birthdays
Lols used an Eileen Hull Sizzix Journal Box Die to make a note/travel book. She used Faded Jeans and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks, a Tim Holtz Bubble Layering Stencil, Fluted Stars Idea-ology and a Spellbinders Seth Apter Robo Rings Die Set to decorate the cover.
Macarena made a card with a note to self. She used the set of Stay Strong die by Simon Says Stamp as the focal point and for the background she embossed the panel with one of WeR Geometric Embossing Folders.
Maura was thinking about how many of us get the winter blues, even animals. She made an art journal page with Carabelle Studio’s Chameleon stamp, using lots of blues like Simon Says Stamp’s Zen cube and Peerless Watercolors.
Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media card using Sakura Koi Watercolors on the background and stamped the trees with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad.
Sandra made a winter blue(s) inspired birthday card, using Spellbinder Ferns dies and Nuvo Mousses Pacific Teal, Old Navy, Aquamarine and Seaspray Green.
Zoey used Loew Cornell Watercolor Cakes to create this Mixed Media TAG
So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!

The “Winter Blues” inspiration projects are just incredible. I am surprised that sometimes a challenge topic really stimulates the imagination. This one certainly does that. Thank you for sharing these wonderful works.
