Hi friends!  We are full of Sparkle and Sprinkle this winter!  The December 2014 card kit is super versatile and fun to use!  This month’s card kit is unique because it highlights embossing.  Embossing was how I fell in love with card making.  It was at my sister’s house where I first saw a heat tool make this little powdered design melt, shine, and come to life!  Oh man, I was sooo impressed.  I wanted to do it over and over again.  To this day, heat embossing is one of my favorite stamping techniques.  There are so many things to do with it.  Hopefully this month’s card kit gives you the tools you need to do some heat embossing too!

Today’s blog hop will show you not only some super fun ways to use this kit, but also some cool tips and tricks about embossing.   The mini Tim Holtz distress embossing pad is a great ink for embossing!  Did you know that it even smells like cinnamon?!  The gold and silver sequins come in several sizes along with a thin vellum that could create spectacular shaker cards!  The Ranger embossing powders coordinate perfectly with our theme.  The “Sparkle and Shine” clear stamp set is versatile enough for cards of all occasions.  The backgrounds are perfect for adding personality to any card.   We included more Simon Says Stamp heavy weight cardstock than we normally do in our kits hoping you would find it useful for creating your own fun backgrounds and card bases.  The blues and grays are particularly trendy and appealing this time of year!

  13. My friend was visiting tonight to make some christmas cards. Her first card wasn’t a total sucess and I think she was feeling a little disheartened. To get some ideas she started looking through some of my finished cards and asked ‘How did you do that?’ Embossing!! So she gave it a go and what a happy little crafter she was. It reminded me of the magic of seeing that powder melt, as your comments on this post also did. I was glad she went home happy with some finished cards and will be coming back again soon to play again. Hugz
