Hi everyone! Greetings of the Winter season! It’s time for another edition of Weekender with Wanda here on the SSS Blog. I’m back today to share a fun felt project with you! If you follow my personal blog, then you already know that I am pretty obsessed with making felties with the Exclusive Simon Says Stamp Plush Dies! I think I have made (at least) one of each one. They are a cheerful project to work on, and the finished cute animals bring a smile to whoever I give them too. I thought it would be neat to make Winter versions of some of the animals I’ve already made. So, today I introduce Winter Fox, Snow Bunny and Winter Owl! I used soft shades of grey and cream and then accented with pops of beautiful red felt.

You can use these finished felties as package tie ons, pins to wear, Christmas tree ornaments, decorations, and lots of other things! You can change the look to fit any theme. I hope you’ll try it!

1

The Winter Fox (Gentle Fox Plush Die) is a pretty grey fox with pink ears and cream accents. to make his scarf, I cut a strip of red felt and then cut into the edges to make fringe. I wrapped it around his neck and did a quick stitch to hold it in place.

2

I like to use Doodlebug Enamel Dots for the eyes on my felt animals. I like that they are shiny and you can choose from several sizes to fit the look you want.

3

Here is the little white snowy bunny (Plush Baby Bunny Die)! I used the bow tie from another die to give him a dapper red tie for Christmas! I also used a white pom pom for his tail. Use Felt Glue to attach the accents! So easy!

And the wee little Winter Owl (Plush Baby Owl Die)! He’s so cute! He is showing his love with a pretty red heart on his chest. To give the animals rosy pink cheeks, I used a brush and a bit of SSS Hollyhock Ink! I think that gives just a little extra touch of cute!

  1. These are darling. I can imagine sewing them while you watch a favorite Christmas movie and eat Christmas cookies.

My favorite winter craft project is baking dozens of small loaves of my grandmother’s Swedish Rye bread recipe and wrapping and labeling them in all kinds of fun ways to give to friends, family & co-workers!

  2. I love to make and decorate match boxes. It s fun to think of something fun to put inside them. My grandkids just love them.

  3. I guess my favourite winter craft project would be making my Christmas cards. I haven’t done a lot of other crafting for a long time. Really cute little animals! I love the soft colours.

  4. These little felt cuties are absolutely darling! What a joyful project ♥ My favorite winter holiday crafty project is probably making our homemade advent calendars – every year, they get more detailed and more hilarious, trying to come up with ideas and mix up the doors!

  5. These are just way too adorable Wanda! I LOVE making felt projects. When my children were little I bought 2 kits (can’t remember the company’s name now) of Christmas bear ornaments. There were 10 bears per kit. Once I started making them I was obsessed with them and never stopped sewing until they were all made! LOL
Aside from making tonnes of cards & tags for Christmas I LOVE to bake! Yesterday I made 8 banana breads. (Of course I gave most away.) Today I have 3 left! LOL

  6. My favourite winter project is making dozens of Christmas Cards and gift bags with Christmas tags. And these are perfect inspiration for me

  7. My favorite winter crafting project varies, depending on my mood. Sometimes it is an art journal page, making a quilt or another type of project. Thanks for the opportunity to try something new.

  8. These are adorable. I know a few little children that would love ever some of these to hang on their tree this Christmas. Just hope if I do win I have time to make them before Christmas!

  9. Wonderful little critters. I like to make a set of Christmas tags as small additional gifts that I add to my main gifts.

  10. Hi Wanda! These plushies are so Cute! I can’t say that I have a favorite, but a couple of years ago I made quilted coffee cozies and they were pretty fun. In years past I have also made fabric corn bags, to be heated in the microwave for aches and pains. They are therapeutic to make and I really enjoy giving them on a “poor” Christmas short of funds. People enjoy receiving them, especially when they are under the weather or when it’s really cold. thanks for sharing your great crafty ideas. (((Super Big Crafty Hugs)))

  11. O my these are so cute! I have a niece that would absolutely love these. My mom would too. She would have some object lesson to use them for.

  12. Here in Australia all of our seasons are opposite yours in the US so as you a heading into winter, we are warming up for summer. So for winter projects I like to sunggle up in a heated blanket and do all the things I normally do, however I do love snowflakes for Christmas cards.

  13. Love baking cookies with my mothers handwritten recipes. what a lovely forest-themed Christmas tree thse cute critters would make. Every year we have a second smaller themed-tree that is different from the last. These would be perfect on a tree with the super tiny white lights.

  14. Absolutely lovely Wanda!!! I love die cutting and making cards and I’m an avid cross-sticher. I would love to try those dies!

  15. These animals are incredibly cute. I love the grey and red together! My favorite holiday craft is making gift tags. I love to personalize them.

  16. These are simply adorable! What kid (of any age) wouldn’t love to receive a bunch of these cuties?!?! I know I would! TFS!

  17. Wanda, these are just too stinking cute. I can just image a little tree covered with these are adorable little ornaments.
