Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! I hope you had the most wonderful Thanksgiving! Are you still eating leftovers? Did you go shopping for Black Friday!? I can answer a big ‘yes’ to both of those questions! I love Thanksgiving and it was a wonderful day at our home. Now it’s going to be like ice skating down a hill until Christmas – FAST! LOL. Welcome back to the latest edition of Weekender with Wanda here on the Simon Says Stamp Blog! I missed you last week, but wow, what an amazing blog hop we had! So glad to be back this weekend to share with you.

This week I’m featuring some of my favorite supplies from Simon Says Stamp! One of my most favorite of our Winter stamp sets is called Build A Snowman, and I got this set out for today’s card. I combined the snowman set with a sentiment from the beautiful Christmas Cheer stamp set – which was one of the Stamptember products! I love this cute little snowman with his hat and scarf.

1

I started with a nice crisp white card base and then layered Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper on top of the white. Next I die cut pretty icy blue cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Whirl Background Die. Then I used the Stitched Slopes dies to create a white snowy hill for my snowman. The sentiment was stamped in Intense Black Ink directly onto the hill. Then I accented the white piece with stamped snowflakes.

2

I stamped and colored all the images to build my snowman! He is so adorable! I colored the light bulbs with Copic Markers. The red, orange and blue are Simon Says Stamp Ink pads. (Colors listed below)

I used three of my favorite go-to accents on this card! There is a pretty enamel dot on the top of his hat for one accent. Then I used a Clear Wink of Stella pen to paint shimmer on his scarf, nose, hat, body and hill. This gives such a pretty wintery feeling. Lastly I used a Clear Glaze Pen to add clear dimension to the snowman eyes and the light bulbs. This little accent makes a big impact I think.

In this photo you can see the shimmery and shiny parts!

This sentiment fits perfectly in this space and it’s so pretty! Just right for a Christmas greeting in the mail. I raised the snowy hill up from the card using foam tape. The snowman is also adhered with foam tape.

  1. Hi Wanda – you are at it again – lovely lovely – I like the background – the pop up and the Plaid – so festive with that snowman holding those lovely lights – Jingle All The Way!! Christmas is coming soon – TFS your great art work – keep it up – enjoy viewing your creations – blessings

  2. Oh, my heart is melting! I have such a soft spot for snowmen! LOVE this little scene and all the fabulous details… the stitched hill and stamped snowflakes, the swirly background and big bold sentiment… all so sweet! And LOVE the sparkle and glaze on the snowman, too! <3

  3. Very cute card. Love the stitched swirls in the background. Kind of reminds me of “Starry Night” by van Gogh.

  4. This is so adorable! I love snowmen. And I really love that you didn’t do any fancy coloring (I’m not much of a colorer) so this is something I could easily use as inspiration. :-)

  5. Such a super cute snowman on this beautiful card! I love the blue swirly diecut background and snow bank scene on the pretty plaid paper.

  6. Festive spirit soaring in seeing this adorable snowman with his tangle of lights in the fabulous wintry wonderland! So sweet!

  7. I love the snowman with these retro lights! And I didn’t know Sakura made a clear glaze pen….!!! (just what I need, more “must-haves”)

  8. I love Wanda’s cards–great design elements and attention to detail. The plaid background paper, coordinating colors, and sparkle are perfect.

  9. Really adorable card! I love how Wanda used the stitched swirl background, looks like twirling, blowing snow, such a great design.

  10. This card is SO PERFECTLY DONE, Wanda! I can’t get over how EVERY ELEMENT is done! It looks like a STORE BOUGHT, but BETTER, OF COURSE! LOL ;) Still eating those left overs, but no shopping on Black Friday! I keep out of the stores then on purpose! LOL ;)
