Happy Tuesday!! It’s Shari here with some fun color! Have you had trouble creating watercolor backgrounds for your cards? I’ve discovered the amazing Watery Washes stamp set from Darkroom Door that really makes it easy!

I’ve used my favorite Distress inks to create the background then white embossed the daisy from the Fine Flowers stamp set also from Darkroom Door.

I like to make blank cards to have on handy for unexpected events. This one is great for a birthday, going away or even a thank you. It only takes a second to stamp a sentiment on the inside.

I’ve shot a video to show how to create this card which you can view below or on our YouTube channel.

  1. I love this card. I am trying to use watercoloring and I have wasted so much time and effort and supplies and have not been happy. This technique is so good I am going to try this next. Great job and tutorial.

  2. Really beautiful Shari. I sometimes have trouble with watercolor, things become muddy… This technique is really nice. Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing these great stamps.

  3. Wow, this is great for people like me who are still wondering how to get these lovely watercolor washes. Thanks for the video.

  4. Yeah, ridiculously, I agree with everyone. It is pretty cool. Coz when I just looked at it, I didn’t realize it was stamped. I thought it WAS watercolored.

  5. Gorgeous card and great video. I’ve always wondered if people watercolor first or emboss first. Now I know!
