Hi bloggers! Happy Wednesday to you! Are YOU ready for Halloween? I must admit, even as a full fledged “adult”, I still love the holiday and look forward to finding something fun or silly to dress up as and have fun with my friends. It’s the one night of the year that it’s perfectly accepted and encouraged to step out of your comfort zone, not to mention the people watching is incredible!

I’m pleased to introduce a new guest designer on the blog today, Emily Lanham. She made these cute treat bags for her daughter and classmates. Read below to get some hot tips & tricks from the designer herself!

Enjoy!

My daughter started kindergarten this year and on day 1 they asked for parents to sign up to send treats for upcoming parties. Immediately I signed up for Halloween because I wanted to make some spooky sweet treat bags for the kids. That was my whole inspiration for this project. When making treat bags, a tip would be not to spend too much time on them. Make them sweet & simple. They are going to get ripped apart in the end, but it’s always nice to have something cute to give. My go-to products for making treat bags are 1- Anything by Authentique Paper. Their paper is a nice heavyweight quality and will hold up for these type of projects. You could even make your own bags from their paper (I chose pre-made bags because it was easier to buy them in bulk in this case). Also, their designs are always perfect for projects from kids to adults. 2- Tsukineko inks. I always ink up my projects, it gives that extra dimension and I never have a problem matching their inks to anything, they are always spot on. 3- May Arts ribbon is a must have in every project that I create. Embellishments are expensive so I prefer to embellish with ribbon. It’s fun, frilly, & very versatile.
