Hi Bloggers! Happy Sunday to you! I’m thrilled to have Teri Anderson back as our guest designer, so will let her now take the stage!

Enjoy!

Hi again, Simon friends! Teri here, and I’m excited to visit again!

Today, I wanted to share with you a really simple technique for using clear stamps. Rather than using just the front side of a stamp, stamp with the back side, too!

This technique is really fun with stamps of images (like flowers and leaves) that are mostly line art!

I created this artsy little card by stamping with the back side of the flower (from the Poppy Sentiments set from Technique Tuesday).

The stamping went down like this:

First, I flipped my stamp over. And then I applied red ink to flower portion of it. (By the way, I got a little overzealous with the inking on my card and got a little bit on the stem, but that’s OK. That extra ink just adds to the artsy look of the technique.)

Then I stamped on paper and got something like this.

I cleaned the stamp, flipped over (right side up) and stamped the flower with black ink.

I used the exact same stamping technique with this card here.

Only this time I used a leaf (from the I Give Thanks stamp set from Technique Tuesday) and an orange ink pad.

Thanks for having me today! And I hope you consider giving the technique a try!

Thanks so much for reading, and thanks again to Teri for being a guest day!

  1. That is such a cool technique. It kind of looks like the flower is dripping because of the stem part. Will totally be trying this.

  2. Super awesome technique, and it really makes some great cards, I can see here. Really beautiful result hun, TFS tghis awesome idea with us all here Teri, it´s gorgeous.

  3. Pretty stamp set! I’ve seen this technique, but never tried (don’t know why). Thanks for the inspiration Teri- will have to try this.

  4. I keep forgetting about this technique. Have to try it out on my next project. the hanging stem just added interest to the flower. there are often longer pieces of leaf. Great job.

  5. Wow, I like that technique! I would never have thought of it, that’s why I like this blog, so many ideas. Will go look through my stash and see if I can do something like this.
