Thank You For Being Awesome!
Hi Bloggers! Happy Sunday to you! I’m thrilled to have Teri Anderson back as our guest designer, so will let her now take the stage!
Hi again, Simon friends! Teri here, and I’m excited to visit again!
Today, I wanted to share with you a really simple technique for using clear stamps. Rather than using just the front side of a stamp, stamp with the back side, too!
This technique is really fun with stamps of images (like flowers and leaves) that are mostly line art!
I created this artsy little card by stamping with the back side of the flower (from the Poppy Sentiments set from Technique Tuesday).
The stamping went down like this:
First, I flipped my stamp over. And then I applied red ink to flower portion of it. (By the way, I got a little overzealous with the inking on my card and got a little bit on the stem, but that’s OK. That extra ink just adds to the artsy look of the technique.)
Then I stamped on paper and got something like this.
I cleaned the stamp, flipped over (right side up) and stamped the flower with black ink.
I used the exact same stamping technique with this card here.
Only this time I used a leaf (from the I Give Thanks stamp set from Technique Tuesday) and an orange ink pad.
Thanks for having me today! And I hope you consider giving the technique a try!
Blog Candy Alert! The generous folks at Technique Tuesday have offered to sponsor our blog candy today by giving away a Poppy Sentiments stamp set to one lucky winner! Follow our blog via email and comment on this post for a chance to win!
Great cards! I’ll give this technique a try. ;-)
Very clever technique!! Love the artsy effect and splash of color!
Now that is definitely thinking outside the square! I am going to have to dig all my stamps out and re-evaluate them :) Thank you so much for sharing x
Great idea love the artsy feel, and I couldn’t find the mistake, ha. Thanks for the awesome idea.
Great technique with a beautiful stamp set.
Great technique, thanks for sharing!
That clever technique is so cool!
Hey Teri!!! I’ve seen you use this technique before and loved then too!!! I love TT stamps!!! (p.s. I love Simon Says stamps as well, just so we keep it even!) ; )
This looks like a really easy and cool technique!
Nice technique and pretty cards.
Love this look! I tried it with some of my clear stamps and had trouble with them clinging backwards. Any tips on getting the patterned side to cling while the backside gets inked and stamped???? Thanks!
