Sunshine & Smiles!
Hi bloggers! Happy Friday! I thought it would be a nice treat to the end of the week to have special guest Jess Larsen share with us yet another beautiful card! Below, Jess explains her inspiration behind the card.
Enjoy!
Our nice sunny days are numbered, so I decided to create one last summery card, before it is decidedly fall outside! One of my favorite things to do is look at a stamp set and see how the images could be used in an unconventional way. As soon as I saw the flowers in the Simon set Petal Pieces, a sun and cloud jumped into my mind! I used the spikey flower from the set for the outline of the sun. To fill in the middle I used one of the mid-sized circles from the Hero Arts Circle set. This set is so handy and very versatile. It’s one of my all time favorites! The clouds were created with another puffy flower from the Petal Pieces set.
I also switched things up by using my Simon Flat Bottom Cloud dies as a little green hill for my wooden bicycle. My favorite thing about this card is the stitched trail leading to the bicycle. Stitching on a card takes almost no extra time and packs such a punch! It was just the finishing touch this card needed. The sentiment comes from an older Hero Arts set Sending Smiles. Happy end of summer! :-)
