Summer School with Nichol Magouirk
Hello and welcome to day 3 of Summer School!
Today we’re sharing a card created by Nichol Magouirk using lots of products from the new Teacher’s Pet release! This card would be great for men and women teachers and features some awesome products and techniques!
The black embossing paste over the black cardstock is perfect for some great texture without being too obvious. And like yesterday’s card by Shari, Nichol chose to have the the Teacher die-cut be the punch of color on the card.
The layered tags and mix of stars on the background, pull this card together and make it that much more special! Those little details don’t seem like a lot, but they really make the card!

Back when I was a child, they always started the Tuesday after Labor Day. Now, it is much sooner I think. Love the new products!

School always started after Labor Day for me however, when I taught, school started two weeks before the starting date.

Always after Labor Day. Too soon of course. We lived near the beach so its really hard to leave the seaside and go back to the schoolroom.

I love the layered tag! My niece goes back August 19th, which is very similar to when we went back when I was a kid.
When I was young, we always went back to school on the day after Labor Day. When I became a teacher here in Louisiana, we went back in late August and now with my grandkids they go back next week. The time is moving closer to the beginning of August.
Too soon-summer went way too fast. Next week Aug 14 is their first day of school. Awesome card–love the black embossing paste!

I don’t have kids, but I remember that I went back to school in early September. We have our county fair the last full week of August and I always knew that meant school was about to start again!
Our local schools start here on August 20, but this year all my kiddos will be gone and at various universities so they will have different start dates. As I’ve said before I’m a teacher, I actually start back tomorrow with meetings and professional development before the students come back. Thanks for the give away keeping fingers crossed :)
Love your card! Thanks for the helpful video. No children going back to school, unless you count my daughter who is a teacher. She goes back this week. When she started school, it started back the Monday after Labor Day. When did that date change! Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I’ve got my fingers crossed.
My son is way past school days. Now if he could only find a job, I would be thrilled! :P
I really like this card especially for the men teachers our kids seem to have a lot of these days, since they often get overlooked for thank you’s. SCHOOL…back in my olden days school,started the day after Labor Day. Now I look forward sometimes with sadness that my 2 grandchildren start in August. Seems so early to me and to them. My one joy is I get to purchase their school supplies (mom lets me) I take them and their lists and off we go. I ALWAYS purchase more than they need and GIVE the rest to the teachers for kids who need them. Teachers always need the help.

My kids go back to school on August 18th. Summer goes by way too fast.
I work at our local technical college, we start August 25th but the grade schools and high schools don’t start until after Labor Day!! They go until the end of May, early June though. Love this teacher card….I should make some for our fabulous faculty :-)
19th August is d-day here and coming round far too quickly! Love the card today, that stencil is just fabulous and love seeing how everyone uses it in a different way.
I don’t have kids, but I am a school secretary and my first workday was monday. Now I am looking forward to all the kids starts next week.

My boys start 4th grade August 18th. I’m happy and sad about. Watching them grow up is harder than I thought it would be.

That black embossing paste is so effective on the black cardstock. This card looks deceptively simple until you start seeing all the detail.

I went to school after Labor Day, but my kids would start towards the middle of August. Students in our area have already started back.
Thanks for sharing this great card. I love the cards that everyone shares with these new releases. We always started the day after Labor Day back in the day. My girls, who are both teachers are already back getting their classrooms ready for kids starting next week on the 14th of August.
Oh, my! My kids go back on August 13th and it cannot come fast enough. We’ve moved and it’s been veeery long summer for us. Everyone is excited to find new friends.
My grandkids go to school usually after Labor Day. That is always when we started back to school when I was a child.

My children are grown yet thinking of this fresh start pulls at my memories….sharpening pencils, packing lunches, selecting school supplies, and wondering who they would eat lunch with on the first day. I grew up going to school after Labor Day yet school started for my boys mid August.

Our kids generally go right to the end of June and go back to school right after Labor Day, but this year we’re not sure when the kids will go back, as the teachers are still on strike.
I’ve been out of school a looong time but I think we went back the end of August. Our kids went back after Labor Day and now our grand kids in AZ started August 4th!
When we lived in MN, our kids started after Labor Day. Now I will be watching the neighborhood children in California trot off to school in about 10 days!

My daughter starts her first year of college on August 25th as well as my sophomore son starts that day also.
