Summer School with Laura Bassen

Hello and welcome to another day of summer school! Can you believe that we’re already at day 4?!

Today’s teacher is the super talented and funny Laura Bassen! Laura is using the new Lunchbox Notes stamps and dies from the Teacher’s Pet release to create adorable little cards to include in her kids lunches this year! ;)

Lunch-Box-Notes

Rather than just creating flat panel cards, Laura made small, top-folding white cards and then adhered the diecut scalloped square over top. I love the bright colors of cardstock she used for for all of her cards and the great way she embellished each one with different elements from the stamp set. She even made a mini little shaker card! ;)

To make the fun designs stand out even more on her card, Laura used foam adhesive on the focal areas to pop them off the front of her card. Such a great way to add more dimension to these adorable little cards!

To see how Laura created her card, you can watch the video below.

Summer School wouldn’t be complete without the chance to win some crafty school supplies, right!?

  1. My favorite subject was math, and then in high school it was bookkeeping … although I ended up becoming a legal assistant where my math skills don’t come into play very much. How fun to find one of these cute little cards in a lunch box … anyone would be smiling out loud to find such a sweet note! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Fabulous little cards; so darn cute!! My favourite subject was math…and what did I eventually become? An English teacher! Yeeshhhh!!

  3. So cute Laura!! I agree…so cute I just can’t stand it! :D TFS! (PS how about a mini shaker WITH a rainbow???)

  4. These are just so cute. Love that tiny shaker. My favourite subject was science and in particular biology.

  5. Recess was definitely my favorite but since that probably doesn’t count as a subject I guess I’ll say English. I think these lunchbox notes would also be a great gift to give to teachers to hand out to the students that could use some encouragement!

  6. Love all Laura’s cards but especially the tiny shaker! My favourite subjects at school were English and history. Never was any good at maths and that hasn’t improved since.

  7. I just loved history in school; so much so that I pursued it in university and that’s what my BA is in!

  8. My favorite subject was definitely Math – in fact, I majored in it in college. The sciences (specifically Chemistry and Biology) were a close second.

  9. i liked science and technology but not maths so i ended up as an engineer in a hospital. this is my creative outlet.

  10. Laura! I LOVED your video & your little cards! ESPECIALLY, the end of your video with your kids! LOL Mine would be complete HAMS!!! (Probably too silly to use! LOL) Tell them they did a SUPER JOB!!!!!!!!!!!:) By the way, GOOD JOB on getting them to cook for you! LOL :D

  11. I was, am still am, very practical, so maths and the sciences were my best subjects at high school. I am now an accountant specialising in SMSF in Australia. I am a “creative” accountant!

  12. Those are so cute! My favourite subject was biology – probably explains why I grew up to be a Marine Biologist!

  13. Numbers were not my thing – they still aren’t. I was always reading. I fell in love with shorthand (something a lot of people probably don’t even know what it is). It was fun to be able to write and a lot of people couldn’t read it. I enjoyed school.
Love the little notes. Wish I had someone whose lunch box I could stick some in.

  14. I loved math! And Laura’s videos always make me laugh and smile and I learn something every time…gotta love a mini shaker!

  15. Awesome little notes! You definitely need one with pizza on it :)
I think my favorite subject in school was recess.
Followed possibly by band when I was older. Ha!

  16. My favorite subject was art when we had an incredible art teacher…then it was English when we didn’t have that awesome art teacher anymore.

  17. Grade School – I would say penmanship (yes I am old!)
High School – Study Hall :-)

Cute little cards! They would be fun on a gift bag!
