Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Ombrè + Layered Stamping Featuring Hero Arts

Studio Monday with Nina-Marie

Hello everyone, it’s Nina-Marie here with you. Welcome to my latest edition of Studio Monday!

Today I am excited to be featuring some of the newest products from Hero Arts. Their gorgeous, stargazing collection that was recently released is simply sparkling with beauty. I particularly fell in love with the Star Light, Star Bright background cling stamp and couldn’t wait to pair it with the Wish I Might silhouette set.

Using the background stamp, my MISTI and a few Altenew Crisp Ink colors, I inked and stamped multiple times to create an ombrè style night sky. In the video below, I will walk you through how I achieved this look.

I also layered images from the Wish I Might set onto the starry sky; this time I used Simon Black Pigment ink for a silhouetted image. The reason this layering works so well is that I stamped the sky with dye ink and the silhouettes in pigment ink. Dye ink soaks into the paper, which created the seamless blend between the colors. Pigment ink sits on top of the paper, which is why you cannot see the background through the black stamping.

To finish up the card, I spritzed a light shimmer over the entire scene with Altenew’s Iridescent Shimmer Spritz. There are also star confetti and glitter Nuvo Drops in between the stars in the sky for additional sparkle. The greeting is from the Wish I Might set.

I hope today’s card and video inspire you to create with these new Hero Arts stamps and dies! Thanks so much for visiting with me; I will be back again very soon with more inspiration for you!

  5. Wow! I loved your background on this card. I wondered how you would get the harsh lines out and just by your stamping technique it was so pretty. You may have convinced me to buy that night sky stamp. Thanks for sharing your tips and for all you do!

  6. Wow! What a beautiful card! I love the silhouettes against that gorgeous background. What a sweet sentiment, too!

  7. super card! Thanks for mentioning that pigment ink will stamp over dye ink! That’s a helpful hint. I don’t have that Hero Arts set, but I have two other kits that I could use to create something similar.
